What's new

Skid/track steer on a budget...

Here is about 90% of the trees from my backyard. The pile is about 10' wide maybe 7' tall snashed as I piled it. 17 hours on the machine running back and forth after many more hours cutting.

Why not just rent one from the local equipment rental?

Already stated but I will try to make money on the machine(may not) trying to earn money doing the work instead of paying for the priviiage. That may not work out, we will see. I have a few other projects then I will sell it.

A buddy that runs a backhoe for work will rent a skidsteer when needed. Guess it works for him.

This chapter is done, I sold the Bobcat Sunday. Paid $21,900 sold for $23,500. I sold it in less than 12 hours so I probably left money on the table but cash in hand on a Sunday with no fuss was worth it. It was a pretty big risk vs reward but no regerts. 22 hours on the meter mmoving trees to the street, 16 yards of dirt to fill in where the trees were and done. I will probably use the $1600 to rent a stump grinder and pay for gravel to do my driveway.
