Savage Model 10 Accuracy Issues

Ans to be clear, the box test won't explain your problem, but will either confirm it's not the scope or it's part of the problem.

Box test is for the scope. Dial up 4 moa, shoot a group. Dial windage left 4 moa, shoot a group. Dial back down the same 4 moa, shoot a group. Then 4 moa right on windage should be back to the bullseye, shoot a group.

There's several variations but you get the idea. You're dialing your scope, and keeping the same point of aim to see how it actually tracks.
Easy enough, just walking a group around the target?
Is your scope MOA or Mil?
MOA

Its an Accustock
Action screws are at 32 in/lbs
175 SMK HPBT with 43grns of 4064
I haven't messed with Savages for awhile but it sounds like the Accustock is a quality stock. I read that it has an aluminum block embedded in it so it isn't a complete piece of plastic junk. While probably not your issue, don't get stuck on a specific torque value on the action screws. Might sound like garbage but the differing torque on those screws can shift impact. It is a good reason to bed any rifle to eliminate this issue and then you can rely on a certain torque spec.

I think you have an easy to fix issue with the gun and just need to go through a check list with the info provided. There are some straight POS guns out there that won't shoot unless you rebarrel but those are far and few between. Sometimes you just have to work with them to see what the malfunction is. Bedding the stock is an easy thing to do and will eliminate a lot of current and future issues. To be honest, JB Weld works great for a bedding compound.

I am lucky as my armorer in the military is retired and runs a business out of his house in the area. Perfect for crazy shit that I can't figure out. I am pretty dumb when it comes to AR's and AK's because other than be able to take them apart for cleaning, he did all the work and tweaking on them in the military. I guess I am lazy too because, whenever I have an AR issue I can't solve, I dump it at his house and tell him to send me a bill.

ETA: When I was buying used guns at a fast paste, I came to the rapid conclusion that not everyone treats their firearms the same and started baselining them by scrubbing the bore with JB's bore paste until I could run a patch through with no discoloring. Then and only then, would I take them out to sight in.

I think the difference in the first ten and the next ten is a telling tale. If the first ten group but the second ten don't, that's an ammo issue. I'm betting that chamber heat is creating higher velocities and you were already on the high end of your node. Get out the chrony and see what it says.
