We saw these at CostCo a week back and decided to try them. Pretty damn good and they're a quick meal. You can pan fry them from frozen.

Thanks. I've actually been wanting to find a decent pre-made salmon burger.

Not a salmon fan, but it's OK in frozen burger form. The frozen turkey burgers are pretty good at Costco. Nothing really beats a beef burger for taste.

If not eating real beef burgers, like from a cow, I prefer the black bean or beyond burger patties. The black bean patties are spicy and tasty, but do not taste anything like beef. They are good for breakfast with some scrambled eggs and hash browns. The beyond patties have a beef like taste and texture, but are no easier to cook up than real beef. I said beef like, because you can tell the difference. My daughter doesn't eat meat most of the time, not because she doesn't like it or is a vegan, but because the way the animals are treated. I started keeping some of the black bean and beyond patties in the freezer for her, then started eating them myself.

Around these parts, we just catch the salmon, fillet them, and make a salmon fillet into a burger.

My mom's friend visited from Belgium and she was amazed that we had fresh caught salmon from the river behind our house. The way she explained where she is from they treat salmon like we treat a high end steak. She was over the moon when I caught and cooked some for her.

I know, cool story bro. :flipoff2:

We both love wild caught salmon, but most of the time it's too $$$$$$$$$. Never found any farm raised salmon that didn't taste like shit.

Some of the best smoked salmon I’ve ever had was from a guy near a beach access point on the Washington coast :smokin:

Shit, next year when the pinks are running, I limit usually in about 30 minutes each day.

Seriously, when it's pink season I'm either working, fishing or smoking salmon. I give 90% of it away because I can't eat it all myself.

I have 3 recipes: cajun; whiskey citrus; and just plain smoked. I bring a gallon ziplock to work full of smoked salmon and it's gone in minutes.

Can of salmon
10 saltine crackers

Lemon pepper
Salt to taste

Mix all together, make patties like a burger, and fry in olive oil

Salmon patty/burger

House smells like fish factory for a couple days

Toppings can be hot sauce or tarter

We do salmon burgers pretty regularly, more often than real burgers. The ones linked above are OK. Publix sells them fresh(?) in Lemon Dill, Bacon cheddar or southwest style. The bacon cheddar ones on delicious on a brioche bun.

I fucking love salmon patties, but lemon pepper is only used by people with mental defects :flipoff2:

I keep a single burner butane stove around for cooking smelly foods. I use it either in my garage or on my covered patio. Fish and deep frying are the two times I use it most.

Not burgers, but this is far and away my favorite prep for salmon. As always, i double or triple the recommended garlic, YMMV.
  • 1 1/2 lb salmon filet
  • 2 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp light olive oil, not extra virgin
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 1/2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt, we use sea salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 Lemon, sliced into 4 rings
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 450˚F and line a rimmed baking sheet with silpat or foil. Slice salmon into 4 portions and arrange them on a lined baking sheet, skin-side-down.
  2. In a small bowl, combine: 2 Tbsp parsley, 2-3 pressed cloves garlic, 2 Tbsp oil and 2 Tbsp lemon juice, 1/2 Tbsp Dijon, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/8 tsp pepper.
  3. Generously spread the marinade over the top and sides of the salmon then top each piece with a slice of lemon.
  4. Bake at 450°F for 12-15 min or until just cooked through and flaky. Don't over-cook.

Yech. I'm sick of salmon.
These arent bad but for most other types of salmon I am right there with you. Also sick of halibut.

Last time I ate at Simon & Seaforts the waiter gave me the stink eye for ordering cod.

Cedar plank salmon on the grill is my go to, but I'll knock out some patties every once in a while for quick and easy.
