Roofing shingle brands

went with landmark solaris TL

Is this acceptable? Looks ugly to me, seems like better ways to do it, or this is common?
Apparently that’s a feature and not a bug with the fancy ass triple laminated shingles they used; Hip and ridge overhangs a lot more than most.

I once priced the impact resistant landmark shingles and they were like 2.5x the cost of a standard landmark 30 yr architectural shingle, so I shudder to think how much these TL units cost.

I have never seen any professional roofer do that (hell, I’ve never seen an amateur roofer do that).

Could more than 1 guy on the crew speak English?
Did you drug test your crew?
Because that’s some shit a sober roofer would try to pass off? Or a white crew.

It does look like they can be cut; but I also understand how the installer would have been hesitant to cut into that beast of a hip/ridge shingle ;

More brochure;

I've been told that insurance won't pay the impact resistant price to replace it when it ages out (Texas) so it can end up cost you money.
Just what I was told from some roofers and a insurance (friend not customer)
