Rolex 24

Dang Manche - I was this >< close to you. We squatted up at the 375 seating (right in front of the jumbotron) for the end. Very happy with the outcome. Caddie and Porsche were mixing it up all night long. The fire in the Lexus on pit-out helped seal the deal. The 963 had waaaay better exit speeds out of the infield and still pulled on the banks and straights. Great contest and kudos for nice clean racing.

Will have to read up on what was wrong with the Bimmers - they seemed way out classed.

Pictures/videos inbound when I get some downloaded.

As a bmw fanboi.

They are not competitive.
I was just impressed that they both finished.
Usually they are broken the last few years.

I'm a pcar pilot so I had no problem with BMW being so many laps behind. I too was impressed they actually crossed the finish line under their own power. LIke I said, I will have to read up on their technology to find out why they are sucking. And speaking of sucking, the new designs are exactly that. The kidney grill has gone from attractive to some sort of bucktooth horrendous-ness.I didn't even bother stopping in their tent because the designs are so bad.

Give me a 2002 on 15" wheels. Or anything M-series from E30 to E38. They are now dead to me :stirthepot:

They died to me when they stopped importing wagons.

Whoops.

Due to an officiating error in race control, IMSA inadvertently announced and subsequently displayed the white flag with under three minutes remaining in the race. At the end of the lap, the race-leading No. 7 GTP car then received the checkered flag with 1 minute, 35.277 seconds still remaining, ending the race short of the planned 24 hours by effectively one lap.

Based on Article 49 of the 2024 IMSA Sporting Regulations and Standard Supplementary Regulations, should the checkered flag be inadvertently or otherwise displayed before the leading car completes the scheduled number of laps or before the prescribed time has been completed, the race is nevertheless deemed ended when the flag is displayed.

Chris Bangle killed BMW for me

The "Bangle-Butt" was definitely the start of the slide....

And funny, I noticed the checker come out a lap early. I thought "i r confused" we still have over 2 minutes and they're turning 1:35.xx out there.... I don't think it impacted anyone's strategy/finish as the cars were running cleanly and pretty well spaced out, but that is bush-league. And for chrissake, they have to STOP with the full course cautions unless warranted. A car that had an OTE (off-track-excursion) and has to get re-booted is no reason to stack/pack/rack everyone else. These are professional endurance racers and can avoid/ignore something that is outta the way.

I stupidly used my real credentials while in the Cadillac tent to get their free shirt. Now I am being plagued by my local dealer to come in. The CT5-V BlackWing makes me tight in the shorts I admit :cool2: But, I just bought a new-to-me Cayenne to be the family wagon so sadly I can't justify it.

670hp 6.2L supercharged V8 with a six speed? yes please....

The new Mustang GTD is also impressive. But I am NOT buying a Mustang that costs more than my house!
