It dropped on YT before it was on Spotify. That surprised me.
Rogan's contract with Spotify expired a while back.
Rogan's contract with Spotify expired a while back.
That's accurate. He's talked about it a few times. Spotify wanted to keep him for the listeners he brings but they both agreed neither party really gets anything out of exclusivity. Rogan agreed to stay on because of how much they backed him when people were trying to cancel him and because they refused to pull any episodes he didn't personally agree to.From what I read he renewed with spotify except now he is not exclusive to only Spotify and is now available on other platforms like youtubes
They renewed the contract. Rogan has more control now.Rogan's contract with Spotify expired a while back.
Shocking.im surprised they didnt turn the comments off.
Youtube already removed thumbsdown numbers from being shown because of Biden in 2020.
yes, 33 million views in 2.5 days woudl have any other video pinned to the top of 'suggested/ watch next' list. I may listen to 2 or 3 JRE episodes a month on average, so it would absolutely normally be in my feed ( and it was for an hr or 2 Friday night before some lefty programmer addressed it) without YT placing their thumb on the scales to try and not feed the runaway momentum of trump's campaign.I thought search engines since 1996 use relevance to sort results. One would think a hit with 34 million views would be at the top of the list.
10 links down if I search Joe Rogan Trump Full Interview
Second link from the top if I don't search like a boomer and instead search "Joe Rogan 2219"
Ohh it's there. Try searching the exact name.
joe rogan experience #2219 - donald trump
Nobody that's not an avid Rogan listener is going to have a clue what episode it is and outside of you two, I doubt anybody that's actually looking for it is going to include "2219" in their search.
I just searched "Rogan Trump" as well as "Joe Rogan Donald Trump". You'd think even the most basic search algorithms would return a recent video that has those two or four words in it and has had 34m views in 2 days.....unless said algorithm was designed not to return the result that just about anyone using those terms would be looking for.
I scrolled down through at least the first 100 videos and never found it. Closest thing I got was a few JRE Clips from the video. But there were a ton of "breakdowns" and reaction videos from primarily left leaning channels.
Edit: If it's not clear enough what YT is doing, I've tried searching "Joe Rogan <any other name he's interviewed>" and it's the first hit every time.
But search trump and you get nothing. In fact, the second non "top news" hit is about Harris and Beyonce
My point of saying to search the exact title was just to present further proof the common search terms are definitely being suppressed.Nobody that's not an avid Rogan listener is going to have a clue what episode it is and outside of you two, I doubt anybody that's actually looking for it is going to include "2219" in their search.

Former President Donald Trump's highly anticipated three-hour interview with Joe Rogan generated controversy among some supporters of the Republican presidential candidate, who have accused YouTube of censoring it.
The latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast was published on Friday and has already racked up 33 million views. It has quickly become one of the most viewed podcast appearances of the 2024 election cycle for either Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris.
When the video was initially uploaded to YouTube, it was "unlisted," meaning it could only be accessed through a direct link and wouldn't appear in search results or on the uploader's page.
Rogan took to X, formerly Twitter, on Friday to clarify that it was unlisted due to a technical issue with Spotify.
"There is no issue with YouTube censoring the trump episode. It was just supposed to go live on both Spotify and YouTube at the same time and there was a glitch in Spotify's upload system and so we delisted the YouTube link until it's fixed. It should be fine now," Rogan wrote.
The video is no longer unlisted. Newsweek reached out to YouTube and Spotify for comment.
Another concern raised by commenters on the YouTube video was that despite being highly viewed, it was not featured on YouTube's Trending page.
YouTube's Trending page highlights new, well-viewed videos. According to guidelines published by YouTube's owner, Google, each featured video requires final approval from a dedicated staff.
Trending videos are selected by balancing several different factors, including their engagement levels, the diversity of their content, appeal to a wide range of viewers and lack of clickbait or misleading content.
Political videos can be featured in this section if they meet the platform's criteria.
YouTube also has thorough policies about election-related content, which include removing videos that spread election misinformation and elevating informative videos from authoritative sources.
It is unclear why YouTube did not feature Rogan's interview with Trump in the Trending section.
The former president's decision to take a break from the campaign trail to appear on the podcast just 11 days before the election underscores the power of Rogan's reach.
Rogan's podcast is the most popular on Spotify, according to the streaming player's charts. He has more than 14 million followers on the app, more than three times the amount of the second-most followed podcaster. His channel on YouTube boasts nearly 18 million followers, and his videos regularly rack up millions of views.
The two men appeared to have a good rapport during the wide-ranging interview, despite Rogan describing Trump as "an existential threat to democracy" two years ago.
During the mostly friendly interview, the pair discussed Trump's persistent and long-debunked claims about election fraud, aliens, and Trump's regrets about appointing "disloyal" people to his first cabinet that later turned on him.
I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that it is an example of how it is important to know how to find what you're looking for. How many times has the cover tile been posted in this thread with the episode number on it? I'm pretty sure I saw it in youtube thumbnails that weren't the actual podcast, but I'm not going to re check right now
Most of the other suggested videos were about Trump's appearance on the podcast, so they were pretty related. I'm assuming they are pushed ahead because they are newer posts.
But also, this is why I barely ever use You Tube.
Oh hell no, not in at least a decade. Search Engine Optimization has taken over everything to monetize search results as much as possible. Basically whoever is paying the most for advertising is who shows up first now. Google is the worst about it and it's a hell of a rabbit hole to go down.I thought search engines since 1996 use relevance to sort results. 10 years of Trudeau, we are over a trillion in debt, gained over 2 million people that barely speak english, and don't want to really be Canadians, just came for the free shit, there is whole cities now where you think you are in India when you go into a store or restaurant. Our healthcare is broken, we have death panels, and if you want to see a doctor have fun with that, a specialist 1-2 year wait if your lucky. If anyone thinks it doesn't matter, just look at where Canada is right now and how fast they got there. If Hillary had won in 2016 and gotten 3 SCOTUS picks things would look a lot worse right now than they are.
If you don't pay google $ for ads you are lucky to be in the search results for your own business regardless of how optimized your site is. .Oh hell no, not in at least a decade. But that's not how Youtube's search every works. And even if it was, you'd expect the actually video to show up in the first dozen or so hits. I scanned the first 100 and never found it. But the second hit was about Beyonce performing at a Harris rally and that's somehow more relevant to my search?
Listen….
Read comments while listening if you can multitask!!!!
Shocking.
how are you seeing the negative numbers? it hides it for me. are you a wizard?

I kinda think he does that intentionally. I heard him spool it up, catch himself, and stop at one point.took me all day to get it all listened up. 🔝 Trump is a run on hyperbole sentence.
Everything is great, best ever, fantastic people.
I wasn’t on the fence or anything so it wasn’t going to change my mind on anything.
