Rocklight kit, or buy individual lights?

I know you said no KC but I like my cyclones. Didn't buy the kit just purchased individually, ran wire to a dist. block I put on the firewall and a cheap switch on the dash. Different lenses so pick your color.
And the ease of running a 1/4-20 thru the middle of the light into whatever body/mount you desire.

Exactly. Front and rear lights I just used existing holes that mount other shit and the middle ones are attached to the body mounts. I don’t have any experience with the Amazon lights but the kc lights are tiny and throw out a lot of light.

That and they have like 10 4000g wires in there, so good luck extending or shortening them. I do kinda like having the option for red for when you're with a group who actually wants to have thier eyes adjust instead of just trying to light the whole world up.
I just shortened 8 of them. There are 5 each about 28ga wires. Easy money if you are not a moron.

KC is the only rocklight I'll run. They're awesome.

I have a ton of Rigid A series rock lights from an old project.
The lights themselves are great. The wires are garbage, too thin and can get damaged or pulled out like pretty much all the same style lights. Whichever brand you get I would epoxy or silicone the wires to the back of the light for waterproofing.

Reasons why I like Cyclones :

18awg wires
Potted

I've done that before, too. And then 10 months later the garbage control pack goes retarded and they're all junk anyhow. Fuck the gay party lights on rock crawlers.

I have 4 KC Cyclones, 1 mounted above each wheel. High enough up that they don't get damaged. They were like $25 a pop but honestly a year later they still look and work like new.

but you dont need the extra mount, there is a screw hole in the center correct?

I have these on mine, they are well made and bright. Hope they last but at that price I ordered a few extra if i get some that fail.

I used this wire for mine to a Auxbeam 8 gang switch panel.

I have seen some offered as tube clamp setups intended for dome lights.

But yes, the center hole accepts hardware.

They used to be $25/4. I find the bracket to light body connection sucks though. Screws back out, or strip, or break, etc. Pissed me off to no end.
Ya double to triple any price on amazon.com + the turds fees.

That's the stuff I ordered in 18 awg too but from the Canuck site.

Those 4" ones are too long for what I've already fab'd up for brackets

Found these too, look better then the little round penny light ones.

More expensive but look better for light output.
Just ordered 8 of these.

I'm a believer that not all cheap lights are created equal. That mictunning brand is probably my favorite. I've bought thier 10w single pods, flush mount reverse lights and some 8" or so wide single row(actual spot beam) led bars that were all pretty damn good quality for the money.

I'm in the process of wiring up some kc cyclones. Bought lights individually. I'm using these magnets to mount them, they really stick.

The white lens puts out alot of light. The colored lenses definitely reduce the light output. My only concern is if they will hold up to all the rain around here.

No affiliation or experience with these, but saw this on a FaceSpace off-road group. Here’s a guy 3D printing tube mounts for the KC Cyclone rock lights.

Some of my cyclones have been mounted in the wheel well for over a year now and have held up to being blasted by snow, mud, rocks, and gravel… they are pretty tough.

That guy actually makes a lot of cool stuff.

So finally got to install Atleast one side of my lights. Running 4 on each side. Have them angled up so they bleed out to the sides a bit better. Fronts are angle out and up. To get the light out past the bumper.

Decent little lights for the cost. However the rubber mounts that come with them are more like harder than hockey puck plastic.
