Settle an argument. (Not likly)

You are driving on a two lane off ramp of an interstate. The ramp y’s into two lanes of a four lane highway. There is a cement divider on the highway, so no turning left. There is also a red light. If you are in the right lane, you can obviously turn right after stop. Can you do it from the left lane? I say no, of course, my better half says yes.

Is the left lane a right turn lane? Then yes.

If the left lane is a continue straight, or turn right lane, then also yes.

Providing no signage that states "no right turn on red".

If the left lane is intended for straight through traffic and not also a turn lane, then no.

No clue the actual Law but I do it almost every day and yet to be told not to so I say yes. :flipoff2:

Yup, we have a few intersections like that around here and I'll turn right from either lane.

Legal in Michigan to turn right (or left) on red onto a 1 way road/lane, as long as its not posted otherwise. We have "Michigan Lefts" so left turn onto a 1 way is a thing we do a lot. When multiple lanes are for turning, that doesn't change the legality, but you're expected to not be an ass-hat and turn into the same lane you're turning from... I.e., if you're turning from the left lane, go into the left travel lane. It's amazing how many people don't do that.
Sometimes there's even little checkered guide lines thru the turn to help you.

Yes, it's legal. Also, buy going way out into the lane, turning right extra sharp and jamming the throttle to make the open diff peg leg burnout is the only way to spin tire(s) in a 305 tbi. Get that weight leaning driver and turn them 145 horses loose!

100% legal to turn on red from any designated right turn lane, unless specifically signed otherwise. (In almost all states.)

These are the signs commonly used to say otherwise.

Spinoff - is it legal to do a u-turn at a red light? As in pull up the the stop bar at a red light and then make a left u-turn, partially in the intersection.

I don't believe it is, but I see people doing it here all the time, which has me questioning it.

Hell no.

Edit: possibly, if the cross street is a one way street with traffic heading left.

The sign says "right on red after stop" It doesn't say from the right lane only.

I am making the right turn from that lane if i see down the road. I also run left turn arrows if I can clearly see the oncoming lanes so there's that.

My understanding has always been No, but everyone does it anyway. It creates a safety hazard because the vehicle in the left lane blocks the view of the folks in the right lane. If it's a red ARROW, then no question, not allowed.

Why does it 'Y'?
Why doesn't it 'T'?

Also I need to know how this came up.
You were driving, stopped at the light, and she told you to go?
She was driving, stopped at the light, then proceeded?
