What's new

Rich men north of Richmond?

I think that the big thing right now is that he is blowing the charts up and liberal media is having to report that a conservative country singer is topping the charts.

Yahoo news reported that the editors for Rolling Stone are losing their shit due to not wanting to put a non libtard in their mag.

I actually haven't heard the song. I just heard try that in a small town for the first time last night.

there's a focus with fender delete on ATV tires in this video; he might do more wheeling than most here. :lmao:

I was just coming to post this. This looks like a great idea on a FWD car lol

What exactly are the liberals whining about, regarding that song?
They don't even know.

The Richmond subreddit loves this guy and the people there are overwhelmingly liberal progressives. Though even they're tired of being flooded with people from NoVA and DC. Housing costs and property taxes here have gone insane since 2020. Lots of shit sitting empty to because they're secondary residences.

He could do just like Jamey Johnson did. Make his money real quick then fade back to doing the smaller, low key shows he enjoys doing. Jamey got a taste of the spotlight and noped right on outta there.

as i understand it jamey was in the background writing songs before he went 'public' so to speak. i hope the dude the best, just going to be a 'nobody' to everyone recognizing you when you are at the grocery store is not something id be down for.

Yeah, he was well known within the industry as a songwriter before he broke out as a singer and showed everybody that not only could he out-write you he could out-sing you too.

not many people id want to see in person, but hes on that list.
Definitely do if you get a chance. He's an amazing singer. But just a heads up, there will be no audience interaction. He'll hammer through his set like he's got somewhere to be and he's gone. No encore, no nothing. He's said he finds encores to be pretentious. I don't think the guy really likes performing truth be told. But if you just enjoy damn good music and understand what you're signing up for it's great.

George Strait put JJ's song "Give It Away" out there. Not much public recognition before that. JJ and Lee Ann Womack did a killer version (You Tube) for King George. Worth watching.

I'm not really a country fan nor do I care for politically motivated lyrics... but damn I feel that in my bones. :smokin:

Also, dude's voice sounds like a 64yr old coal miner who lost his entire family in the great White Oak Creek flood of '79.

I had to put captions on to understand alot of it.

Have to do that on alot of movies too though.

I honestly didn't hear anything that should be considered politically motivated. He just pointed out that the average person is feeling the impacts of inflation and being stuck in dead end jobs. He said he wished that the government would prioritize kids. Pointed out that maybe there should be some more restrictions on the food items that government assistance pays for and that fudge rounds shouldn't qualify. He pointed out that the politicians and wealthy elite don't give a fuck about any of this.

I realize the media is bending over backwards to paint these as right wing issues but WTF? These are things that the vast majority of everyday Americans can likely agree on and that's why they're completely out of touch and why stuff like this blows up. Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, right or left - there's a lot of shit that most everyone can agree about and that's why the establishment flies in to try to drive a wedge and push division. Without that forced division they're fucked and they know it.

Look, don't take anything I say about music seriously. Rage Against the Machine comes on and I crank that shit. I agree with virtually nothing they're saying. I'm singing along with the dumb communists.

Kinda like 45 described. Always had a hard time getting in to country, even though I like a little bit of every genre and a lot a bit some genres.

Oliver's got me full on to his style. Neither my neighbor or I have the time to pull out our guitars, but when we do, I'm gonna get him on board with playing a few of these songs.

What am I going to do? I have decided win or lose, I'm running for county commission next year. I can sit and bitch about things or I can try to do something about it....I'm choosing to do something. Again, win or lose, I'm going to try.

I understand that county commission isn't even a drop in the bucket but if enough people take over their counties, they can take over the state, and with enough states, the federal government could be next.

So next year I plan on putting alot of shoe leather on the ground and see what happens.

I keep thinking of running for council. Probably wouldn't go any further up the ladder than that though.

I see our port authority has an opening, maybe I could do that instead.
