Ribbed rubber seal vs butyl tape for windows

Ia the butyl MUCH better? Removing a window with butyl is a nightmare, and I am wanting to go with a regular ribbed rubber seal like comes on some RV windows

Advice?

Couldn't tell you what is better. Butyl is my choice though

I'm replacing my leaking windows with butyl, worst one was ribbed rubber.

They both seem to have made a decade of use

Yes. Yes it is. I don't give a shit how hard it is to remove it is I am going to use it on everything it's just that damn good. Windows, trans tunnels, everything in my yard gets butyl.

Butyl is the superior sealer for windows IMO. I put that shit on everything.
