The top two solenoid have some leads going off, one is in one is out. Get 12v from in the cab or send it from the winch, if you send it from the winch it probably won't be fused...I have this old Chinese "tabor" with 4 solenoids. The remote is long gone.... anyone have a diagram to wire up a remote incab switch?
The 3 wire in the bottom of the pic are your control leads.I have this old Chinese "tabor" with 4 solenoids. The remote is long gone.... anyone have a diagram to wire up a remote incab switch?
Soo maybe a tuesday question, but I assume you could wire a in-cab setup and still leave your normal remote setup intact...with no ill effects?
Yes, a primary on/off switch is a good idea.Tou can run as many switches as you want.
it's a good idea to have a separate activate/kill switch. Otherwise a kid can just hop in, start hitting buttons and fuck up the winch.
If you have 1.5v on the opposite 12v lug you don't have a good ground on that lug.I’m having some problems with my in cab control. It is for a Warn XD9000i. I’m pulling (+) from the cigarette lighter, the switch is grounded inside the cab, and I’m getting 12 volts to the solenoid in the winch when I push the button, but the winch isn’t spoiling.
When I check the voltage on the solenoid using the plug in controller it puts 10 volts to one small lug on the solenoid and 1.5 to the other small lug.
my switch is putting 12 volts to both small lugs.
What am I missing?
I can't help with a 5 pin control, I don't have any of those. You should have zero volts on the - post and 12+ on the positive post. If you see voltage where a ground should be you will have fire/heat or you don't have a ground there and are reading the 12v - the resistance of the coil. This is what I’m trying to figure out. Winch spools in/out with the hand control just fine.
Is my ground to the switch possible a problem? When I check voltage at the switch and everywhere along the wire it always reads 12 or more.
CarterKraft ill clean up the small lug grounds I guess.
It’s the same 4 solenoid Warn setup as above. Wired from Warn this way. All I added was a switch sending 12 volts positive to the same green wire post but somehow when I do it from a switch it doesn’t work. I don’t know about fire/heat problems.I can't help with a 5 pin control, I don't have any of those. You should have zero volts on the - post and 12+ on the positive post. Id be curious if you can pull enough current from a cigarette lighter plug to send down a wire to a solenoid, solenoid need a high in rush current to pull the armature. It’s the same 4 solenoid Warn setup as above. Does the ground need to be on the winch?Like others have said, you don't have a good ground.
Possibly.Does the ground need to be on the winch?
This was a thought I had as the only reason it wouldn’t work but didn’t do anything because write ups on the switch said to only run white/black/green and nothing for ground.By grounding in the cab and not sending it back youre not providing ground when switch sends 12v.
Every one I’ve ever seen.Does the ground need to be on the winch?
Again. That should be for the common 3 wire setup.total newb when I ground the switch to the battery negative terminal where the winch is connected I still get 12 volts on both sides of each solenoid. Nothing different than when I ground it in the cab.
Suggestions?
Green wire from the switch to the green wire Warn uses.Again. That should be for the common 3 wire setup.
What you have is 5.
Get some decent pics.
