What's new

Reliable affordable decet 9mm

"my" guns are a pair of USP45's, but I want something cheaper that can be loaned shot scratched without regard to value, if the need ever arises.

If that's the case, get anything but the Glocks.

Stick with a similar grip angle. The m&p, SIG 320, XD, Taurus, and even high point are all damn similar.

Glocks are different and they work. They need massive training to switch and stay fast. Just aggravating to draw and push and be looking at the top of the slide

Well rats, I can only get gen 3 glocks in Cali, which my friend says its better to pass on. True? Gen 4 and 5 not legal.
Thats wierd whats illegal? The replacable backstraps or MOS?

stop testing drop testing
it's for your own safety

SAAAAAFETY saaafe safe stay safe out there have a safe day be safe saaaaaaaaaafety safe saaafe

the plandemic kinda broke me on 'safety is virtuous' thing

But what actually changed after gen 3 that affects safety or lethality? Grip angle changed slightly, grip pattern changed but I think they changed it back, replaceable backstraps to fit more hands and an optional adamathing on top.

"In California, state law requires new handguns to have three components: A chamber load indicator, which shows whether the gun is loaded; a magazine disconnect mechanism that will stop the gun from firing if the magazine is not properly inserted; and microstamping capability so law enforcement can more easily link spent shell casings to the guns they were fired from."

Mostly the fucking microstamping bull shit:mad3:

Your in cali. Just get a major brand plastic double stack. Whatever you are allowed to. No one feels like dealing with cali's stupid laws

Know that if you buy more than 2 handguns in a 5 business day window (set by the business hours of the FFL) a special form gets sent to the ATF and local police

There are over a dozen 9mm G2Cs in my family and friends group, most are EDC with a shit load of range time on them. I think I'm the only one that had any sort of issue and it was just my own unfamiliarity with the trigger feel thinking I was having a problem.

I want to say I paid shy of $250 out the door for mine. Basically a stupid simple knockoff of a Glock 19 at half the price.
I really like my Taurus G2C 9mm. A friend has the G3 and really likes it. Breaking one down, yep, basically a Glock at less than half the cost. :smokin:

I'd grab a crate of surplus 941s.

Winner.

I love my 'Jericho', prefer frame over slide safety.

these two posts win the internet for the day. damn makes me proud someone said it. I got a surplus one in chrome. expect to change out the recoil spring, they are usually worn out. also prefer frame safety, over slide.

Old school dead nuts reliable and very affordable. Single stack. Star from Spain.

what an excellent suggestion. owned a few really great Stars. underrated pistols but really great shooters.

I have had the worst luck with my G3C. It will always jam on any flat nose FMJ or defensive rounds. Figured out when the slide goes rewarad in it's normal cycle, the barrel feed ramp and the feed ramp on the frame get a lot of space between them and the round will hit barrel feed ramp too low and it binds up.

Looks like the 941 is not on the roster. Used are few and prices are stupid.

For what you say, I would go sig p320. Better trigger than a glock, but mags are more expensive and not quite as much aftermarket.
Aim surplus has police trade in glocks and sigs.
Are you planning on the Cali awb getting expired?
to me 10 rounds of 9mm in a full sized or even a midsized handgun doesn't make sense. You can get a micro 9 that holds 10 rounds and is much more concealable, but it won't be nearly as easy or fun to shoot as a full sized.
Are you getting these for ccw?
Why 10? Is this going to be a do everything pistol?
There is nothing wrong with the gen 3 glocks. Tons of aftermarket to customize to your hearts content. These are the guns that cemented glicks reputation for reliability. Seen a 17 that my
sot friend has that has probably 50k rounds through it still works. Has had several sets of springs and the barrel doesn't have all it's rifling.
Additionally there is nothing wrong with the sig p320 keep your bugger hook off the trigger and it won't "accidentally" go off. There was a big hubbub about if you hit the back of the slide just right with a hammer, they will fire. Not sure why you would be hitting the black of the slide in any actual use, even hard use.
You may want to check out the beretta px4 storm they are a great pistol and very underappreciated in the market. Not sure about getting 10 of them though.

I like my sig way more than my m&p:flipoff2:

This debate will be just like boots.:flipoff2::lmao:
Ok then
9- 10 mm:flipoff2:
I would get what hollieweird uses to take down badguys 3 blocks away in traffic, driving in revers in the rain at midnight...

In reality, I can't really say I could stash 10 in useful locations.
Probably something Sig

I read the sig 320 lawsuit stuff, lot of law enforcement reported issues, going off while in holster, not sure I want to bother.

Why 10, because I would like to have a small arms collection, you know, in case. Dont want nice stuff, this will be throw them all in a bag or hand them out stuff.

Most of the reports are from LE. Look at how often their depiction of events matches the truth. I question how real the P320 issue is.

I would buy a pile of LE trade in glocks if thats the plan. I do the same with radio and have better luck with trade in Kenwoods than baofengs for a reason

Contrarian, Walther fanboy here says, P99 (while you can still get them) or PDP.

They're single stack, 8+1, but if you want something anyone can shoot and rack the slide on get some CCPs.

yeah no thanks, other member was rigt

LMFAO if a years old recall is all it takes to steer you clear of a perfectly fine pistol I would say your best bet is a hi-point 9mm lol

Then I'd go revolver. Less shit to fuck up and easier to maintain. .357/38 flavor.

Maintain? 9mm plastic squirt guns arent exactly high maintenance
Well if you're ever in a situation where you might need to make a part or repair a worn out part, Amazon may not be able to deliver...:flipoff2:
