What's new

Recommend me a place to disappear in the wild for a week or so (NE Ohio starting point)

Come up to BC - 95% public land, lots of lakes and you can be in true wilderness for days without seeing anyone. Just imagine going down a highway, seeing a dirt road and wondering where it leads......well, let's find out!
Once you get away from the border we simply don't have the population density to get in each other's way

ever been to the Adirondacks? Mid summer is nice and cool and there are plenty of places to camp.

Take me with you. I’m off work all month and I’m ready to make some side money or disappear into the woods for a while

What about fuel reserves? Aren't gas stations are very sparse over there? Heck, we used to worry about running out of gas in Nowheres, Pennsylvania.

And... Isn't the area is Grizzly country?? Is a gun or crossbow allowed- :flipoff2:

 come on man, it isn't Mongolia! If you have a full tank and can drive far enough to run out before hitting a gas station you either have way too small of a tank or getting really, really bad mileage, or both. Seriously though we have a pretty decent central corridor highway with plenty of fuel stations.
Good question about the gun. I do take a 12ga with buckshot and slugs all the time but I guess tourists can't? Sucks for the tourists
