What's new

Pump hoisting rig question.

That's the extra cable needed for a two or triple line it lines up with the other sheave.

i just used one of those rigs for the first time a couple weeks ago, well driller buddy that let us borrow it wasnt around to show us how to use it so it took a little bit to figure out that it extends the boom itself with the cable :lmao:

Yes and no.

If you peeled all that line to the right side of the drum the drum on the left side is smaller resulting in some more pulling power.

2 parting is always a last resort on that particular rig...They are actually incredibly slow and the 5T rig is the proper tool for the job.

On our smeal 3t the drum is the same size on both sides.

WTF? what is that clampy looking thing between the pump and the check all about?

It is a landing clamp sits on the top of the well casing and holds the pump up while you screw the next pipe on.

Well, that's different. We always used wedge collars or landing plates. Seems that thing would be a PITA.

It's for pvc well casing and what we have. We usually don't do bigger jobs like this and have pvc casing elevators for light weight steel or pvc.

We used 3/4 " plate with a U cut the diameter of the pipe. Just slide it in and set the coupler on it. They're easy to make and save a lot of time.

We mostly do domestic and small commercial and have these 1¼"-12".

Awe,...Now it's coming back..... Bell ends need to have the clamping type elevators. You also use them on the occasional steel sets.
