Project Southern X-Posure V2.0

Big things happening.... I finally got a personal shop of my own. I usually use my buisness shop but now I won't have to keep the trucks "movable" so I can do real work the next day or bum friends shops. :lmao:

3 bays, lift, compressor, tons of storage

Is that some type of magic merry Poppins purse shop?

First Pic I'm like, OK, cool, like a big 2 car garage with a little bonus bay to the side for a samurai.

2nd and 3rd Pic, looks huge?

The paint booth isn't even in those pics. Not to shabby for $250 a month :flipoff2:

I have a 203, and $$$. While the extra gearing of the ECO box would be nice the extra $$$ wasn't worth it to me. I'm $800ish into the doubler vs 1300ish for an exobox after getting done with the adaptors
and why 203/205 and not eco box /205 just curious is all i am on the fence

Fucker, that's like a storage unit out west :flipoff2:

The first Pic is just so deceiving.
It is. Lol it definitely has had alot of add on. The yellow wall with brown doors in The 2nd pic is the "original" 2ish car garage thats storage now

Has a full bathroom and office. The Kiddo is loving it.

i have both extra cases the 241 and 203 also and just undecided too, but if i really like this 22rpropane turbo that i am working on i may not do the LS, big maybe.

decisions. i like where this is going though. keep up on the build.

I also run an Auto so the SUPER deep gear reduction isn't as big of a deal.

Here is the rest of it. While this isn't part of my rent I have access.

The brown garage door is a paint booth, I painted my boat in it last summer.

I'm guessing the deceiving part of the first picture is that the doors look like - but aren't - 8' x 8' residential doors...

Well she is at her new home. Maybe when life (work) calms down I'll finish.

The kiddo approves of the new shop.

Some guys don't feel like 4:1 is enough. A 203/205 is a huge heavy set up for only 4:1. Also, it's only really a 3 spd since both are ~2:1. 2.7:1 is different enough that you now get a 4spd.

With your diff gears, you may not even need a doubler, depending on the trans.

If I had a 241 I don't think I'd need the doubler. 2.72 would probably be good. My np205 is ok most the time. I've wheeled this long with it.

Right, everyone is different and terrain is a big factor. I'd bet your rig being light wieght has a lot to do with it also.

Any reason you didn't just go with like a D300?

I already have the 205 in the truck. I already have the twin stick shifters, had a 203. So for $800 I'll have a doubler. Vs a dana 300, having to get an adaptor to my th350, having to regear it, etc. Plus then I'm stuck with whatever ratio with no options

The weight penalty I'm fine with.

Makes sense, doublers are the best for sure. Was just curious.

How far off are 1 tons? I'm guessing twice the tq will expose the weak links of the axles :flipoff2:

Yeah..... don't remind me... lol

Knock on wood I've never had axle issues. But the doubler definitely won't help.

I'm working on finding a front. Would be easy to get a super-duty 60 but then I have to flip it, not a big deal, and get different wheels/tires as Everything I have is 15", medium deal, and link it cause leafs won't work, big deal.

I got cash stashed for a decent deal on a gm/dodge 60. That way I can run it in the leafs for a bit and then link it down the road if I want. Although my front leafs work awesome

Unless you can find a good deal on an old GM or dodge Internal hub D60, take the money you would on rebuilding and upgrading (35 spline axles, hubs, solid or ried knuckles, ect) that old shit and just tube swap a 05+ SD and link it.

Chances are all the stuff will be new enough to just run it. 35 spline stock, way bigger knuckles, ect. You can just cut and splice the tubes pretty easily.

Then go right to the future with 20s :flipoff2:

I found a gm D60 housing and built it all new, it bolted up to my leafs and was able to run deeper than 5.38s to keep the 4 banger happy. I could have put big bell rcv's in some 05+ SD axles for the money I had into the old stuff.

Like I said, if you can't find a deal. $800 gm60 might be worthwhile.

Lsst 60 I got was foe my blazer and cane from a 92 dodge. All in rebuilt to stock with a used detroit and 4:56 gears I was about 1300 in it.

I'm hopping for a deal like that again. I figure if I stay on leafs I'll be sub 2k if i swap to 35 spline outers. Then I can start beefing it up as I go.

It's the small things that add up. The axle is cheap

Started building my fuel cell. Using .250 aluminum throughout and a RCI fuel pump assembly. If my high school Math is correct its about 10 gallons.

Work is steady picking up. Loosing time for this and I'm not happy. Cut the rest of the pieces for the fuel cell last night and finished the jeep on the lift at the shop so I can put the truggy up and pull the t-case and tranny. Doubler is supposed to ship this week. Need to order my triple stick too.
