What's new

Product you spray on UTV's to make cleaning easy?

Absolutely this times eleventy billion.

Funny, I have yet to meet these evil side by side people that don't work on their machines and throw trash. I ride more miles in a month than most in a year and don't see them in them from TN to Maine.

I call total bull shit on this SxS garbage puked here on irate and before that on P. I will continue to call it out and go against the mob. It is simply not an accurate generalization that keep being pushed.

I just ordered 2 cans of sc1 a few weeks ago for my black bikes, on a dirt road, stored in a dusty ass shop. I ordered it based off recommendations from the snobby BMW crowd who like to dust thier cars/bikes off at the local starbucks.

I havent had a chance to haul out the pressure washer and clean the bikes yet. Will apply it after I get that done.

That was super helpful, I'm sure. :lmao:

Well it absolutely is up here. 15 years ago we (dirtbikes, atv's, and 4x4 truck sized things) had almost unlimited use of thousands of acres of commercial forest land logging roads, skidder trails, abandoned rail grades, etc.

In the past 5-10 years the sxs tourism has been promoted heavily by hotels and bars to boost their minimum wage employment numbers and as a result the amount of traffic on the trails has blown up and as a result the logging companies have slowly closed off, gated, and bermed a good portion of secondary access trails and we've lost a large chunk of usable area. They are only required by law to allow foot traffic on the land as part of the tax break, wheeled traffic was at their discretion and it hadn't been a problem till the sxs thing took off. A lot of the idiot riders are from out of the area and don't care about littering and tearing up "wetlands" which gets the logging companies in trouble when it happens enough, and it does. They also don't respect private land, gates, berms, etc. and continue to get more stuff closed. It's not all sxs owners, but it's enough of them that they have caused permanent damage to the amount of land use we've got.

Don't get me wrong, I think a sxs would be fun to have, but I have such a bad taste in my mouth from what they've done here that I doubt I'll ever own one.

I think you should look locally for the litter problem. I hear this all the time--"people travel here and throw out their trash". Man, I just spent how much to haul all my stuff up there, find lodging, buy meals, etc. You think you should worry more about the guy that's into the weekend for $40 or the guy that just threw down $800 for the privilege of using the trails? When I go to Disney, all the biggest shitboxes that just have loose cans in the bed and climb something steep and rutted--the vast majority appear to be locals. The same appears to be true at the dunes when I go there. Maybe OK is simply irredeemable when it comes to trashy people, and other places aren't like that. As always, we all need to self-police. Check out the calling for heads on this thread--

Of course I agree on the heavier use of the trails getting them shut down. That's a definite problem. I wish the trail systems charged more for access, so they were less likely to just throw up their hands and close it down.

OP, hope that helps clean your SXS! I bought some Lucas Oil Slick-Mist. I THINK it helps. Tough to tell with the clay here.

ETA--And yeah, I know I was saying locals are often the problem, and then posted a link where it was definitely a group of travelers that caused a big problem. Not exactly helping my point, of course. People in large groups often act like complete morons, and do so way more often than small groups.
