So I finally got word yesterday that I was second pick for yet another senior management role that I interviewed for in February. This make the 3rd time in 3 years I've been one slot out, and based on conversations with executive level managers for 2 out of the 3 jobs the decision's were based on my lack of a bachelors degree ( all postings indicated experience replaces a degree requirement, so I met the required qualifications.)
Alright, fuck it then, I'll buy me one of those internet degrees. Two of my direct reports have had great experiences with WGU, one is finished up, and the other one is about a year out, so I went ahead and got the ball rolling today.
I'm not planning on letting anyone within my chain know I'm pursuing a degree, so I obviously can't solicit advice from those folks so whats the IBB got.
P.S. the last college courses I sat through were in 2001, and I basically got tired of being broke and went to work.
