What kind of old stuff do you enjoy using, even if you have better options?

Here’s my Winchester 1895 in .30-40. I could afford it because it came with mismatched stocks. It’s not very accurate, but the Lyman 21 sight is pretty cool. I dropped a hog at 325 yards with it once, but didn’t notice at first because the one I had aimed at was running off. I’ve got better rifles, but I’ve probably shot more pigs with it than anything just because I like it.

Definitely cowboy guns . Old levers and revolvers . Just picked up a 1949 Winchester 94 in .30wcf the first rifle I ever hunted with. Been trying to pick up a clean pre-64 for years but most are like the one I started with!

I went through a spell where I wouldnt own a gun for a month before it was gone again:laughing:

Oldest I have is a Rem 600 350 mag. I really dig that caliber for some reason, and the size of the rifle. But It just doesnt fit me.

Grabbed this m77 hawkeye 223 right after I turned 18. Paid for with a stimulus check:laughing: "president bought me a rifle, goddamn life is easy:lmao:" then somebody popped that bubble for me lol.

either way. its accurate enough, fucker fits good enough you can shoot it like a shotgun:smokin: One of the few I will never sell

I always wanted a 600 in .350 mag. I got my wife one in .243 that I thought was pretty sweet. She’s less impressed with it than I am.

The bolt is too far back, and the grip angle doesnt help IMO so racking another round in, just isnt a fast thing.

250gr pills at 2400fps from that shorty barrel is pretty legit though

Been thinking about selling off everything I dont use. It might be on the list

Awesome rifle. The climbin Lyman is worth a good chunk if it’s an original. I have a 95’ in .405 that I love as well.

And Garand
:flipoff2:
I was going to just say my '03 as well, but the Garand falls into this category as well. I converted it to be able to shoot regular 30-06 but it is mostly a safe queen and just to say I have one since I rarely shoot it. My '03 gets shot a lot and has taken several elk, I just love that rifle. I've got other nice rifles, but the sporterized '03 is the one I always seem to use when hunting.

My 80’s browning 1895 in 30-06. I love that gun. It’s so beautiful and the peep sight is pretty good. There’s a huge sight radius on it.

Prolly not even all that old, certainly not as old as the others in the thread. But old is relative...

My Grandmother's H&R that she purchased when her husband was diagnosed with diabetes and cancer. She wanted to protect themselves on camping/fishing trips. The trigger is absolutely horrible in BOTH single and double but I can't let it go...

I’ve got my great-granddad’s model 8 .35 rem. I take it out and shoot it every couple years.
Some dick painted the stock and foregrip on mine a bright orange, so i need to take some time one of these days and strip that off. Mine doesn't have the roll mark on the side of the receiver, that's what makes me think its an early one.

I don’t know enough about them to say early or late. It’s not a tack driver but I like it.

I’ve also got a Remington model 11 20 gauge that had the stock cut down to a youth or woman size at one point, and then another section of stock attached to go back to full size. My great aunts and grandmother shot it at some point but I never have. Someday my daughters will.

Colt 1911, passed down through my wifes family from her great great grandfather who had it in WWI, Father in Law passed it to me since he knows my wife and I will never sell it and it can be passed on to our son.

Dats fekkin gorgeous
How many digits are in the serial number?
Run it @ colt to see it's vintage

Its sub 300,000, made in 1918, so the tail end of the war. What I found interesting is it has a military serial, but none of the typical US government markings, (property of us gov).

Well many of my favorites are old...

50's era remington 760 like 1st or 2nd year made. It was bought for my dad at 12, then he hunted with it till i turned 12 and gave it to me. .30-06 is my favorite caliber for a reason i suppose.

I love my garand....love .30-06

sporterized enfield with scout scope...pure beater gun i picked up and redid. It's so handy

Just got a remington model 11(a5) and its a hoot.
