Official Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other Alt coin crypto thread

Looking for a little help here... I had a smallish amount of Binance in my smart wallet (but large enough I want it back). Binance on BEP ended support earlier this year and I barely caught it before it went to BSC. When that was taken care of I decided to get out to the crypto game entirely, only to find out binance.us no longer supports usd (they may, but I can't transfer usd in or out of my account). So, opened a coinbase account to transfer everything out and didn't know that I should have bridged my USDT from binance to Etherium networks before transferring. I've got the funds "back", but now they're sitting in a Coinbase wallet on the binance network. Bridging to the Etherium network can't happen because it says I need BNB. Binance.us is essentially shut down now, and any method I try to buy binance with my smart wallet just goes nowhere. All I need is like 10 cent of BNB smart Chain. Can anyone help a dumbass out here?

I dunno shit

Pm me your wallet and I will see if I can transfer you some BNB. IIRC there are two different types of BNB and I don't know the difference.

I always ask for help right before I figure something out. Finally got it done through Simpleswap. I'm out. The offer for help is much appreciated. Imagine not being able to get ~4k because you can't classify 6.5 cent a certain way, very frustrating.

I left this stuff alone for 8 months while everything dropped and I hoped it would come back. It kinda did, but in the meantime my main holding became unsupported, the exchange I was using was basically shut down, and the two states I can claim addresses in shut down access to the crypto exchange and ability to buy the network gas. I was up a little bit overall, but fees put me down just slightly when cashing out and I feel lucky I got out with that. More power to everyone who can do this, but it aint me long term.

If you want to continue to use exchanges outside of Coinbase in America get digital residency. RNS is doing it through Palau. You can KYC most all exchanges.

I don’t really understand any of this. Were you on an exchange that didn’t have the “KYC” rules? I don’t know how to do that, but I have thought of doing it. But if I did, I still would keep my coin in a wallet off the exchange. So I don’t understand why you can’t get your crypto exchanged on Coinbase. (Unless they don’t handle it)

I don’t have anything but BTC and ETH, but I still would like to understand what’s going on here.

Edit, what is digital residency?

Yep, I’ve been in a similar bind myself with swapping tokens and dealing with network issues. I had difficulty moving funds between different chains and ended up stuck with the wrong tokens in my wallet. What helped me was using a service like StealthEX. They made it a lot easier to swap out tokens and get them where I needed. For now, you might need to look for a way to get a tiny amount of BNB to cover that bridge fee. Maybe check if there’s a peer-to-peer option or ask around in crypto communities for a small swap.

Bump....Happy 16th Bitcoin Whitepaper day for those who celebrate.

Bitcoin sitting close to all time high....guess Irate still loves the shiny rocks more.

I've since read "The Bitcoin Standard" and am 90% through "Broken Money". Broken Money is a MUCH better read/listen for anyone wants a full rundown on the history of money and everything that has brought us to where we are today.

Fuck. I am up $40k since this time last week. I think it is going to be 100k btc and 5k eth soon.

So what’s the move for those who have it? You gonna hold out for 💯 and dump it?

The “experts” say it will be a million in a few years. But they could be the same experts pushing climate change.

In all seriousness, I’m doing better in BTC than gold now, in a lot less time frame. I doubt I sell either unless they really take off. (Like 5X)

It’s fun to check my account every couple hours.

It’s got to end. But I hope it ends by stalling instead of reversing.

I bought DOGE way back when it came out, it had a good run a couple of years ago so I sold and then bought again in a dip. Right now I am way up but this time I'll HODL, I look back and if I woulda held the first time instead of selling I would be in the mid to high 5 figures right now.

Think I said it here before, but I put in right around $90 into BTC. Sitting north of $900 today. Didn't care much for crypto for a few years, but decided I might as well have some.

I had a decent amount of doge. Sold like 1/4 so got all my investment out of it now just sit back and hope it keeps going up. Long game for that since it's free investment for me now. Made a decent chunk selling off the rest for my bitcoin. I don't feel bitcoin will stay this high for very long

Glenn Beck just told the story of a guy who came to him when BTC was 30 cents trying to get him to buy in w/10K......he passed. Do that math

I was seriously looking to buy 10 K when it was $2500, but thought it was too hard to get set up. Don’t much like doing that math.

When I bought my bitcoin I bought it thinking it was a currency, anonymous, and tax free.
I bought 1/2 a coin to make purchases with.

I didn't buy a lot more, because I was just buying alternative purchasing power (and I deeply regret it)

Well, why you can technically still make purchases, it now functions more as a stock, it really isn't anonymous, and you are paying taxes on any gains. Not what I thought I was getting into, but i have seen great returns.

While I agree with your current description of BTC, it still has the qualities to become a currency. If it would get adopted in a big way, the sky’s the limit. I keep telling everybody I know to put a grand in it just in case. If you can’t afford a grand, put a $100 in it. It is really stupid to have no stake in it right now. Unless of course, you believe the dollar won’t fail.
