Are there any available? Does my Google suck?

My Odb1 scan tool died last week, along with my timing light :homer:.

Can short out the terminals sure, but that's not easy to do while driving down the road when the problem occurs or any good for monitoring data.

paper clip is all you need sir and you won’t short any terminals out

OBD1 gives you very little data, and it's slow AF at that. I have an old Snap-on red brick with the cartridges you need. It was the best tool available at the time. Let me know if your interested.
This... If you can't get ahold of one of those, a SnapOn MODIS is the next best thing, does 99% of the old "brick" functions. I still use ours from time to time at work...

what problem are you chasing?
No clue truck turns on check engine light then dies. Of course never while I'm driving it or around :homer:. We just replaced the ignition module because it died.

I ordered a gm module and will replace the pick up coil as well.

For what vehicle? I have a Ford OBD1 innova? I'm not using any more that does live data.

This piece of shit doesn't monitor data. What is the fucking point of that.

All I wanted is a comparable replacement for my autoxray that died.

I still use my old red brick from time to time. Just used it the other day because all of my other scantools will not monitor misfires on early 2000s Chrysler garbage. You can't even get it through mode 6.

Jesus, seeing that thing brings me back to the early days. It's probably older than you are. :lmao:
I had an instructor in tech school who was a Cadillac tech in the early-mid 90s, he made us learn the 2500and the Ford NGS like it was going to be an every day thing for us in 2009-2010. I've never worked anywhere that had a functional Brick, I managed to cobble one working NGS together when I worked at the Ford dealer, otherwise never touched em.

I've forgotten just about everything about them now.

I started wrenching slightly before those bricks were even a thing and remember how big a deal they were when they were first introduced. I used those alot back then. When I opened my shop in the early 2000s I went all in on a top of the line OTC Genesis scanner with the works to the tune of about 5k. A $159 HF scanner is more useful than that pos is now.
