What's new

Occasionally Trump (Cheeto Jesus) gets one right.

Fuck the nsa.

I'd say going to the people who's rights were violated is about the most proper channel you can get.

And his ass is gonna get a pardon.

Can't stop winning.

He went to fucking CHINA and RUSSIA. He did not go to "the people whose rights were violated". Untold millions of dollars and years of effort wasted. He is a fucking traitor. If he had any balls he would have released the information to any or a handful of domestic news agencies and faced the music. If Reality Winner is in jail, he should be under it.

He tried to go to news outlets multiple times numbnuts then was run out of the country. He basically nuked his career for the American people, now go fuck yourself with noobs statist worshiping cock!

I'm glad to see you are such an expert on national security and intelligence policy. He is a narcissistic asshat who had been drummed out of one agency and worked his way into another. Every agency, the DoD, the Pentagon and Congress all have an Inspector General. He could have approached any or all of them but he didn't.

No dumbass, he tried going through official channels before fleeing to Hong Kong (not China) from Hawaii. There's a limited number of places to flee with non-extradition treaties. Hong Kong is, or was at the time probably the least sketchy of those.

He then leaked everything to the press. Specifically to renowned journalists who cover this sort of stuff, one of whom works for a major media outlet. It wasn't until later that he fled to Moscow and claimed asylum. It's not like he sold state secrets to China and Russia.

Hong Kong is part of China. Do you not pay attention to current world events? The State Dept recently revoked their certification of autonomy after the new Chinese national security law went into effect. He didn't sell state secrets to China and Russia, he GAVE them to them.

And the Snowden leaks happened 7 years ago, not 7 months ago. At the time Hong Kong was autonomous from China, and even then it's not like he gave the info to the HK government in exchange for anything. What's been happening in HK for the last year or so is completely irrelevant here.

No, he didn't give them anything. Did they have access to it after the exposure? Well yeah, the entire world did. But he didn't take the information to them exclusively like you act like he did. China and Russia are strawman arguments here.

Except the proper channels were part of the problem. Sometimes rules need to be broken.

What did he do for us, you haven't said yet.

Snowden didn't release any information that we didn't already know, the NSA was collecting metadata on US communications. We knew that.

All he did was release detail information about 5 Eyes alliance to enemies of the US.

I may not vote Trump over this. What is he doing pardoning a Russian security asset? That's odd shit.

The idea that Snowden told us something valuable as US citizens is the strawman, you have that backward.

But because you retards don't read the news, you don't know that NSA collection of metadata was already known. That's what you THINK he did, but he didn't.

What Snowden did was release data that was ONLY of interest to China and Russia, then he fled to..... wait for it.... China and Russia.

That is scumbag shit, just as bad as Bradley Manning.

You are ignorant as fuck :shaking; And you fucks vote. You're like adolescent girls that way, ignorant with strong opinions. Fuckin idiots.

Hong Kong has been property of China since June 1st 1997 in accordance with the 1984 Joint Declaration. It was in fact owned by China 7 years ago. I have no doubts that China and Russia accessed the information he at the time. Snowden himself said they took possession of the laptop(s) he had with him.

Again, you're cherry picking information here or just flat out don't understand what you're trying to argue. Part of the 84' Declaration was HK autonomy for 20 years. The reason the protests in Hong Kong are happening now is because China stopped honoring that agreement. The change in direction in the Chinese government since then and over the last few years has been since Xi Jinping took control of the Communist Party there in 2012.

And again, he'd already given the information he took to the media at that point. This argument is circular and pointless, he didn't sell the information or give it to Russia and China exclusively like you keep implying to suite your argument.

MOTHERFUCK Snowden. He betrayed the trust put in him. He had several options to address his concerns through the proper channels. Meanwhile he took a fuck ton of information to China and Russia. FUCK HIM.

Fuck the NSA. He tried the proper channels and it got him threatened and surveiled.

He was a whistleblower they wanted to keep quiet. Why do you think he's still relatively safe in Russia? Think they'd let him live if he told them everything? He's feeding them as slow as possible hoping to get back here.

If you are going to pull "facts" out of your ass at least make them sound legit. The 1984 Joint Declaration normalized HK autonomy for....get this...50 years. Not 20, not 23. Maybe you should check your details before telling someone else what is up.

As for Trump and Snowden, the original quote is a nothing burger. He said he heard from some people he was treated unfairly and some said he had it coming. You armchair commandos have fun arguing what national policy and agency is or isn't doing what.

But did we know to what extent that it was being used before the Snowden incident? I bet we didn't

The main thing Snowden did in terms of domestic surveillance is indicating that some people at NSA, of low-level, could search PRISM data without authorization. That is really the main domestic secret revealed by Snowden.

He mostly leaked Foreign Intelligence:

In March 2014, Army General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the House Armed Services Committee, "The vast majority of the documents that Snowden ... exfiltrated from our highest levels of security ... had nothing to do with exposing government oversight of domestic activities. The vast majority of those were related to our military capabilities, operations, tactics, techniques and procedures."[SUP][100][/SUP]

That's wiki.

He dribbled out facts that were of benefit to China and Russia, but of no benefit to you or in the interest of 'liberty'.

After fleeing to Hong Kong, Edward Snowden told the South China Morning Post that the NSA had led more than 61,000 hacking operations worldwide, including many in Hong Kong and mainland China.

He said targets in Hong Kong included the Chinese University, public officials and businesses.

Read the wiki or at least my previous post. Snowden mostly divulged military secrets and how NSA operates, he did not 'reveal' that NSA was using US-based metadata, THAT WAS ALREADY KNOWN BEFORE SNOWDEN. :shaking:

Biden/Harris now look like a better option because Trump may pardon Snowden?

Getthefuckoutofherewiththatbullshit! Even you don't believe that....

It means I have to re-visit this shitty story, and also go back and re-evaluate what I THOUGHT I knew about Trump and Russia.

Snowden's reveals had so LITTLE to do with protecting US Rights, and so MUCH to do with giving China and Russia our Int secrets, if there is a pardon, I will have to seriously consider not voting Trump.

Yes, my previous support of Trump has been 100% sincere and not a troll. I am not a troll now.

I wouldn't vote Biden, probably Gary's write-in Lolbertarian.

Sorry, but being wrong about the number doesn't negate my argument. I'm not the one talking out of my ass here.

You're right, but those details are small and only confirmatory.

Snowden revealed details about PRISM specifically which indicated that certain low-level NSA employees could search the US metadata databse. His reveals did not indicate that this could happen.

The big reveals on PRISM came from The Guardian and WaPo stories. Most of the work was done by them once Snowden had pointed them IN A DIRECTION THEY WERE ALREADY GOING.

XKeyscore is NSA surviellance of foreign intelligence, THAT'S WHAT WE PAY THEM TO DO. KEEP AN EYE ON THE INTERNET.

This man IS NOT A HERO.

You guys need to read the wikipedia entry:

Sorry, but being wrong about the number doesn't negate my argument. I'm not the one talking out of my ass here.

You really are. Snowden did not release very much at all about NSA surveillance of Metadata, which is just phone numbers and address-to-address pattern information, not the content of messages or email or texts.

What he really did was release an enormous amount of information about our Miliitary and Foreign Intelligence services to China and Russia.
Thus the Snowden documents allegedly contained sensitive NSA blueprints detailing how the NSA operates, and which would allow someone who read them to evade or even duplicate NSA surveillance. Further, a July 20, 2015 New York Times article [SUP][102][/SUP] reported that the terror group Islamic State (ISIS or ISIL) had studied revelations from Snowden, about how the United States gathered information on militants, a main result being that the group's top leaders used couriers or encrypted channels to avoid being tracked or monitoring of their communications by Western analysts.

On June 14, 2015, UK's Sunday Times reported that Russian and Chinese intelligence services had decrypted more than 1 million classified files in the Snowden cache, forcing the UK's MI6 intelligence agency to move agents out of live operations in hostile countries.

The Sunday Times said it was not clear whether Russia and China stole Snowden's data or whether Snowden voluntarily handed it over to remain at liberty in Hong Kong and Moscow.[SUP][106][/SUP][SUP][107][/SUP]

Did you see the Millennial Millie or whatever her name is thread in GCC yet, and watch that video? It tinfoily as fuck but gets into some of what your talking about in the above post. Maybe there is some good info there, hard to tell from my perspective.

The video is 1.5hrs.... It kinda drags but if you watch it id like to hear your opinion on that whole thing

Everboob... your so full of shit it's almost laughable. Again, you're an incredible idiot or the worse troll in history. :lmao:

Snowden didn't just disclose the gathering of metadata on American citizens... he lifted the veil on MANY things.

Short list as I remember them

Exposed secret court that allowed NSA to sweep Americans phone records.

Exposed PRISM... a channel that NSA used to gather data from servers of Google, Apple... etc.

Exposed Britains version of the NSA tapping fiber optic cables around the world.

Exposed that NSA spied on foreign countries and World leaders. Yeah, woop diddly fawk, but they used the same courts to access American citizens information.

Exposed XKeyscore, NSA used this program to see ALL internet information produced by American Citizens.

Exposed further information that showed NSA cracking encryption/ internet security to further access internet information.

Exposed how they collected text, phone calls in various countries (Including the United States).

He absolutely tried the proper channels to report and was shut down. The fawk are you talking about? ALL of the actions taken by these Government agencies are illegal as fuck, directly opposed to our 4th amendment rights. How are you even going to imply otherwise with a straight face... beat feet you idiot troll.

:lmao:

So you think he jetted over to russia and started shitting intelligence to russia?

You do realize him coming public, with 3 journalists that worked for western media outlets, is video and audio taped, right?

So ya. Thats going to the people who's rights were violated.

I know a freind of mine is not real happy with him, he retired from Special Forces after 30 years he was planning on becoming a private contractor and going back to the middle east and make money doing the same thing as he had been, but Snowden ruined that, so now he is working as DOD employee
