I did the same thing. I got a email that said I subscribed to the newb check in... I searched and searched for the subscription finally went to the email it was to the old site
got it fixed now.

On my phone the SUBSCRIBE button is larger than anything else and right in the middle of the screen when you start to scroll through a thread.

When you click the Subscribe button the text on the button changes to Unsubscribe, meaning you are subscribed. Click on it again it goes back and you are unsubscribed. Works same on the Like button if you want to take a like back.
