Nothing on Myanmar?

They are an exceptionally repressive military regime that allows very little outside coverage of events. News will be slow to get out.

shrug

Myanmar's primary exports include natural gas, dried beans, rice, and clothing, with major export partners being China, Thailand, Japan, and India.
I've known of their existence (as Burma) ever since I was a wee lad in the early '70s building plastic model planes with a cool tiger mouth on it.:smokin:

I did kid-research (had to go to the library!) and learned the history of the P-40/AVG-American Volunteer Group/2nd Sino-Japanese War/Burma Road.

In 1975; I was 10y.o. and had a pretty decent understanding of the events in China even before Pearl Harbor happened!
That's why I'm of the opinion WWII actually started in 1936/7; not in 1939.

New fear unlocked. Saw a video of people hanging out in a pool on top of the high rise when the quake hit. All the people were able to get out of the pool but the building bucked all the water and all the pool floaties right off the side of the building.

Interesting: Qatar
This small nation is the most common entry on every list of countries with the lowest risk of natural disasters. Qatar is considered a country least likely to experience cyclones, droughts, big floods, and earthquakes.

The worst this country can hope to experience are sandstorms and negligible floods. It is far enough from any major fault lines, as well as volcanoes, which makes it one of the safest countries with the least seismic activities.

Ah could figure out where all the water was coming from in the other videos. That's gotta cause some unpland loading of the building with that much water sloshing around.

Be nice if the earthquake victims could hold the damn camera still for the rest of us! Most of those clips look like the bridge of the Enterprise!

I still have vivid memories of 1/3 to half the water sloshing out of my parents pool during Loma Prieta. And that's an in ground pool. Up on a roof top, **** thst it was VIOLENT!
