Noisy shop vac

This thing's bearing(s?) is shot and would scream while running. Ear protection was mandatory. Drilled a hole and added a couple drops of 15W40. Runs much, much quieter and at a higher RPM too.


I know you can take them apart and replace the bearing but it's 20+ years old and I have better things to do

Get a Rigid one when that dies. Got one from a friend who was moving and its QUIET.
