New York bar declares itself 'autonomous zone' to skirt COVID-19 restrictions

Explain. I am slow today and most days. Our Panera is open, sort of. Had their squash soup last night.

There was a Panera in Seattle or something awhile back. Did the whole pay what you want schpeel. They ended up closing.

Apparently Boston:

Panera Bread pay-what-you-can test 'no longer viable'; last cafe closes in Boston

Panera Bread is closing up its last pay-what-you-can cafe in Boston, admitting that the experiment aimed to combat hunger was “no longer viable.”

Nine years after the sandwich chain launched Panera Cares locations across the country, where customers could pay a voluntary amount or nothing at all for a meal, the company announced Monday that the experiment was coming to an end.

“During its six years in operation, we served meals with dignity to everyone who walked through our doors,” Panera Bread said in a statement, Boston.com reported. “Despite our commitment to this mission, it’s become clear that continued operation of the Boston Panera Cares is no longer viable.”

If one single solitary business owner opens fire, watch as they all stop with the enforcement/harassment.

seattle survived because they only killed/raped other citizens, not police.

Remember last month when the cops were evil and they were attacked daily by the left and it’s mob?
Yeah, weird how that narrative changed after the election.

All democrats and lefty’s are complete pieces of shit and the past couple months has proven this.

Following the ban on outdoor dining in Los Angeles, Gruel tweeted, “Outdoor dining is now banned in LA – but we can fly and eat side by side in a small box with masks off. Also, this move was sponsored by DoorDash. Get ready for your local Walmart pop-up restaurant.”

ayup. not that i believe walmart is part of some grand conspiracy to shut everything down, but the politicians sure do use the "well walmart is still open" excuse to justify destroying everybody else

edit:

“In Gruelandia, my new autonomous zone, I’ll be giving every citizen free pizza, unlimited cannibas [sic], vitamin D, and tons of toilet paper,” Gruel jokingly tweeted Thursday. “In exchange I ask for peaceful productivity and everyone contribute 5 daily hours of skill towards our economy. I’ll post address on MySpace[.]”

:lmao:

good article, below is just the ending

How long before something ugly and regrettable happens because some politician who wouldn’t prosecute mobs, rioters and domestic terrorists ordered law enforcement to arrest citizens who were doing nothing but going about their daily lives?

Every COVID-19 death is tragic for that victim and his or her family and friends. But the death of liberty is catastrophic for all but the few who make the rules that restrict our freedom. Entire populations, not just a small portion, are lost when liberty dies. The effects linger for generations.

I think you seriously underestimate how much the NYPD is willing to shoot at people and how much the city and state is fine with them doing it.
On the plus side, whoever they're shooting at is unlikely to get shot. Anyone nearby though, that's another story.

At some point the police are going to have to decide which side they're on.

occupy wallstreet? the new york occupied protest earlier this year?

the cops are always on the side of their handlers. the official union stance may be openly against the defund the police movement, but the NYPD does what it's told from above.

If only 3,000 cop-serving bars declared themselves perfectly open to this man's bar.

Then we could move something.

Until then, it's all soylent and marx.

There's 40k cops on the NYPD and it's one of the most corrupt, statist organizations in the country. Even Bloomberg bragged about it being his own personal army publicly. The NYPD is definitely not on the right side.

People who try to stop cars by standing in front of them deserve to get their ass run over.

"struck" by a car and ending up on the hood, holding on for whatever distance doesn't sound like much of a strike.

"deputy's condition wasn't immediately available" probably because a few scrapes but otherwise fine doesn't help anyone's victimhood cause.

Bar owner is lucky he's white, or he'd have gotten his ass shot just for being behind the wheel while the car was pointed in the direction of the cop.

I'm not trying to make any particular point, just throwing out some :stirthepot: I guess.

Why were a bunch of cops standing outside of his business to begin with?

Saying cops lied about the guy hitting the cop with the car/broken legs and they say it's all on video. Plain clothes cops jumping out yelling from in between cars. And it wasn't NYPD it was sheriff.

Small business fights back. :usa:
