Need a home printer

Brother... The two I have bought get close to 10 years before they die.

I can't recommend a specific model for your use but I'm running a 9 year old HL5450DN. This is a duplex plug-in network version because fuck wireless:flipoff2:

Got an HP 3101 laser a couple months back after getting sick of the POS inkjet I had before (epson?) and been quite happy with it. Duplex, wireless print, fast, affordable, etc. B&W, but I think they have a similar one that's color.

Much of what I'm doing is printing sections of service manuals to use in the shop, along with the occasional oddball documents. Far far superior to print 50 pages with this in 2 minutes knowing it's costing pennies than the stupid inkjet that costs an arm and a leg, took forever and was just just plain a stupid bitch of a printer.

Need a home printer. Something more robust that the crap at Walmart. But not a full on office version. I’ve been buying cheap ones and just running them until the ink runs dry because Inc is so expensive.

Decent color but not photos,

Scanner and copier functions

Will collate

Will print double sided

WiFi air printing.

Doesn’t need more than 1 tray.

I read on the Epson Eco tank but I’m wary because the epson we used to have was a POS
I just picked up a Brother color laser printer....works very well, was $300 or so. Toner isn't cheap, but tons cheaper than inkjet ink.

Have a brother colored laser at work. It's terrible for color, they are WAY off from what the actual colors are and it's kind of blurry.

Even just something like a spreadsheet with colored lines.

Have they done away with "black" ink? It's been nearly 10 years since I've had an inkjet, but it seems there was always 3 colors and black.

Depends on what you are printing from what application. Black isn't always black and some printers don't have a true b/w print setting and overprint with color to make 'black'. Inkjet printers do dumb things to make sure you need to buy more ink. 2nd getting a laser and 2nd getting a brother.

Put in good paper, not the offwhite thin stuff and use oem cartridges, not refills/off brand with shitty drum units. Also the driver can have multiple color profiles to make it better match what you see on the computer monitor.

No. But for revenue if one of the color carriages is empty it will not print in only black. You need to buy the empty color

Seems everything you have is fucked up. You have the same air dryer setup that works for 1000 other people and yours doesn't work for shit. Same printer that works for 1000 other people and yours doesn't work for shit. Maybe you just suck at owning stuff

I have an ET-2650 ecotank. Prints fast, ink lasts forever and is cheap. It has been far more reliable than the HP color laser that preceded it. Even prints a decent picture for a four color printer.

Give the dude some credit. He dropped it off at the shop like 6 years ago, and they still haven't fixed it :flipoff2:

air dryer?

Printer isn't mine, it's works and it's been crap since I've worked there. The other one is also a Brother, just black though, and it prints fine.
