Most optimal setup?

Would you please explain this a little more?
If you look at stock linked rigs like Jeeps and Broncos, you will notice the lower link brackets are below the axle. It makes for easier packaging but reduces clearance. Most crawlers move the links up to level with the axle tube.
I couldn't help but notice your lack of acknowledgement re: my use of the word "we" at the end of my post??
:lmao:
Best part is I typed that organically, then saw it, went to correct it , then stopped myself to see if you would bust me out on it.....and per you're m.o. you took the class route and just ignored.. A+
Don't give me to much credit. I was mostly skimming by that point.

here was his next project.

Creative guy! I actually came across a couple of those early in my research on long travel vs mid-travel vs Race kit...
Took a hard look at weld it yourself kits, but in the end settled on starting with aftermarket tubular control arms, cutting them off outside the strut mount location, using 250 wall tubing that matches i.d. of the tubulars to extend the ball joint out and a little forward for more caster, then boxing it all in... And the biggest factor was being able to make two full sets of UCA & LCA -one mid and one long travel- for half the cost of the cheapest long-travel lowers I could find.....and that was too empowering to pass up. The money saved on that decision is one of the reasons Ive decided to go ahead and order front fenders and a cam...
Been saying no way from the jump about the fenders but after a year of thought: They're just too big a part of the signature look to leave off the build.. I feel like they will exponentially increase the odds of someone wanting to hand me a stack of money to build one for them? lol

thank you! thats what I thought, wanted be sure.

One of the multi-links I worked up actually had them dropping a half inch lower. Strictly for trying to keep the proper distance between upper and lower axle end mount locations, which, if I rememerber correctly, was 25% the height of your tires? Which is another little maxim that I "think" I have right....

aside from those couple long ones attempting to give some context and listing whats all been done, Ive tried to shorten things up to messages like these lol.. pertinent and concise

I dont have any input, just wanted to check in. I'm up in Morgantown. I am going to try and do some of the 24Hoa stuff in 2026. it all looks like a ton of fun. not sure if ill be in my sxs or my fool size. depends how much work i get done this winter i guess.

Motown is my 2nd home... I was pushing for a Wheeling to Martinsburg that would go through the backroads and trails near town there... -or- Morgantown to Huntington or the opposite in '26... And got no traction... I don't think it will until I, or someone, physically runs and records some trails in the area?

It'll be high on my list of places to start scouting (like #2 or #3) when I get this thing finished... Be great to have another vehicle to go out with if you'd be interested??

Speaking of that, somebody told me the DNR has shut down the road on the N. side of the bridge at Blue Hole? Do you know anything about this? Used to be able to (if you could find it lol) go there from the S. side of the Cheat river, cross N bound and climb up and out of the gorge to the E.. I was told you have to turn around there now and come back the way you went in??

What is your full size? SxS?

id be down to help scout. I know a few routes that would be perfect. I'm not sure about the road to the bridge. last time i was down there it was open and the area around it was purchased by the WV land trust and they redid the parking area by the bridge. now, the road across the sandy where the gaging station is has been closed for a while because of the bridge condition

sxs and full size threads are in my signature

SMH.... knew that... I started this thread on my way out the door to run up to N.Central WV and look at a dirtbike, didn't buy it. Then went to look at one in N. panhandle area, didn't buy it. Then Monday went to N. OH and finally bought one. This may or may not have been a good idea at this time in my life? Yes I need the therapy, the feeling of untethered freedom that can only be administered by a 2 wheel off-road machine, but it's taking its toll on my time, and my focus that could be on my truck...

Got about halfway through the Red Rocket... Impressive! Love the custom console! Thats one of next things on my list. Ive got to come up with some way to mount the SDI E-Clik controller seamlessly in the middle of 6-8 rocker switches? Ive got a plan, kind of. But thats how I usually handle those obstacles: Form initial plan in m head and cross the bridge when i get to it...

Unless my guy and I had misunderstanding? he potrayed it as if you could no longer continue on past the bridge, up out of the gorge, and on to Mt Nebo from Blue Hole?? As of now I'm planning on coming up for the game next weekend. If so, I'm gonna go find out lol...

You know Lance Ray by chance? Lives in Morgantown....pretty serious wheeler. Met him at the 2nd 24HOA, we manned the final checkpoint together, way down in the southern most possible lattitude of WV lol... He's got a really nice XJ and I beleive is slowly working up an '08 Tundra Crew... Definitely need to link you all up......maybe next weekend?
