Crossbar seems to be one of those places where you are winning the race right up until you're not. The 4400 cars I was thinking had a shot at the win; Wolf, Campbell, and the Gomez brothers all ended up with issues that basically gave the win to a mid pack guy that ran the course slow and steady.
That happened in pretty much every class all weekend including
JR4X's 4600 race. Dude that qualified pole in 4600 beat the ever living shit out of his Cherokee around the short course and made a great lap but I guess he tried keeping that pace on the actual race course once the green dropped and he broke the truck within a few miles of the starting line and killed his chances of winning the race. Meanwhile here is
JR4X keeping a quick steady pace but not going so fast that he's going to break the truck to the point of not being able to finish and that steady pace put him in the lead early and got him the win.
This is why I'm intrested in racing in the 4900 Stock UTV class there next year. Fast gets you a good qualifying spot but maintaining a steady pace that doesn't break the car is what gets you a finish.
