Missing person rubicon

It’s so crazy they didn’t find him quickly. With the technology search and rescue has plus volunteers and k9’s. I’m hoping he didn’t go hide to do something terrible. I definitely feel for his family and friends.

Friday night at the Springs we were woken up by the helicopter calling his name.
About an hour later SR rolled through waking people up.
It sounded like he just wandered off from his Jeep.

That’s what I get from it too. So odd tho.

How hot was it up there? Truckee was supposed to be 95 or so. That is a lot of heat to be working outdoors. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke messes with your mind and you can easily wander off and then get hurt

Heat was fine on the rubicon this past week. The helicopter didn't detour the bear from hitting the neighbors camp at the same time they were flying over with search light/ loud speaker at 1:30am.

Dibs on his stuff. :homer: Do I at least get a nice jeep with one of the angry grills?

Well he was a passenger was wearing all denim....

I've been following it on fb. Seems crazy to me that someone working the event could get lost anywhere between Cadillac hill and the springs. Mountain on one side, river on the other, and only 1 wrong way to go that should be realized pretty quick.

FOUND SAFE :)

We are happy to share that Warren Elliott has been found safe and uninjured at Hell Hole Reservoir. He was found this morning. This is a tremendous relief for Mr. Elliott's family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to all the search and rescue teams who tirelessly assisted from across the state. We are also immensely grateful to Jeepers Jamboree for their support and hospitality extended to our search teams. They provided food, drinks, and a place to camp overnight.
Thank you to everyone who supported and shared information during the search!

Someone told him once if he drank the water he could get sick.

So dude just does this all the time?
He's 70 and probably has some level of dementia; family needs to keep him on a leash next time:

Mr. Elliott shared with us that he had gone out for a walk at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19th in an area he was familiar with, but when he went to walk back to the area they were camping in Rubicon Springs, he began walking in the wrong direction. He drank water from the river and found a handful of berries to eat. From the point he was last seen, near Cadillac Hill, to the area where he was found, Hell Hole Reservoir, is roughly 9 miles as the crow flies; however, he walked much further than that over the five days. Mr. Elliott was not hurt and is in good spirits.

Each day there were between 50 and 100 searchers, representing 10 agencies from across the state, we want to thank everyone who assisted.
