I use them because normal toilets are too low. I'm not a "huge" guy (6-2@230), but a "chair height" toilet is so much nicer.Usually these toilet seat lifts are done to get them to the standard wheelchair height 17"-19" without having to replace the toilet. That is what is meant by "Chair Height". ADA toilets are designed so that you can drop one armrest and pull up next to the bowl with the wheelchair and slide over to use it.
