My dad didn't tell many story from World War II.
But one he did tell.

We all hated the marches during Basic. Bitched about how heavy the packs were, how far we went. Everything.
When we got over there, you carried as much ammo as you could get your hands on. It didn't matter if it fit your gun or not cause it might fit the gun next to you.







What you did there, I see it.
People who've never humped a pack (Infantry wise) have no idea the weight, misery, and pure pain. It's a real mind fuck to carry all that shit. Props to your Grand Father and all those of his ilk.
