I remember when a friend and I were both standing on the back of one of those to add counterweight for the 7.3 diesel hanging from the end, while the trailer it had been delivered on was pulled away and replaced with an engine stand. I noticed the numbers on the side of the boom, 2ton is with the boom extension fully retracted. Sticking out like that, they're only rated for 500lbs.
