I picked up a rad 94 F150 2wd a few weeks ago. A week later the slip yolk gave up and the drive shaft dropped.
Got a new yolk and the shaft rebuilt. Struggleing to find a seal for this M5r2 5speed. On seal #7 now.
I think this trans has a repair sleeve in it, i have yet to see one used or installed so Im unsure what Im looking at. Any experience with these 2wd trannies on here?

this is the seal that is the closest to old one. Came with a repair sleeve... looks close to whats in there. But im still uncertain

I guess they call that a bushing extending out with the splines. The seal I have that looks closest looks like the lip would ride on the bushing but just the dust boot would ride on the slip yolk?
I have another coming tomorrow that I am hoping is different...

Uh, that bushing is supposed to be flush inside the tailhousing, not hanging out there in the air. I'm guessing that yoke was fucked up for a while and beat the bushing out of the extension housing or drug it out in the middle of the driveline falling. I'd make sure the housing isn't fucked up to the point you can't bang a new bushing in.

I was thinking "odd, none of my M5ODs look like that and I've got one of just about every major revision"

Yep, she complied... little love tap and its back in. Now I gotta find my seal.....housing looks OK, time will tell if this seal will hold.
Thanks fellas
