Lost rental car

I always take before and after video walk-around, I'll make sure to include the drop off background a little better for documentation...



I video document a fair amount of stuff, haven't had to really use it, the few times it's come in handy, "well if it comes to it I can check the video" things smooth out at that point

This. Anything I've rented from cars, apartments, to tools, Quick vid of time of pickup with the rental person present and in the vid and a quick vid of the time of return showing no new damage.

(Unrelated side story)
The rental company of the last house I rented tried to get me for screens I never had, dirty carpet, and other damage that was very obviously there when I moved in trying to take my whole security deposit. One Email with the move in vid in it, they promptly returned the security deposit in full. Also screwed them in court with the next tenant because it showed damage that we had complained about and they never repaired (soft spot in floor) next tenant stepped through the floor and broke an ankle and sued the crap out of them.
 
Somebody forgot to check it in their system. Then they figured out the oops and handled it quietly.
