but it's likely that is the system they are going to make you use if you are uploading your documents to the IRS directly? I dunno. imma likely pay somebody to do mine next year and i'm considering going paper this year instead of efile just out of spite

I was happy last week when I logged into the IRS portal..and they had finally found my 2020 paper return. My bookkeeper said we had to mail it for reasons, I sent it Registered Mail, and after delivery the IRS lost it for 9 months. No penalties because I had proof, but... The IRS guy on the phone said "Just give it time- with Covid, our paper processing is FUBAR."
