2) Check the hose clamps on the clear flexible feed line from the tank to pump & probably snug 'em both now that it's run in.
Will do!

It almost looked milky after running for awhile. Worried some water got in.....

Ended up with the 37ton champion.
Vertical is awesome for the big rounds.

My Lowes special sucks air into the fluid after running a bit and the bubbles make it look milky. Paying attention to how flat the machine is tends to help with getting less air, based on where the pickup is from the reservoir.

what is your fluid level ?

Hopefully that's it. It does clear after sitting.

It's full enough to puke out the breather

I got my splitter up and running last week. I got the main unit from my girlfriend’s uncle. I had to get a motor, pump, coupler, lines, and a filter assembly.

I grabbed a filter assembly from TSC and thought “it’s for a log splitter it will be good” that lasted about 30 min Saturday morning, then it split the filter open and sprayed hydraulic fluid everywhere :homer:

After I took a shower I plumbed it straight to the tank, no folter. Ran the rest of the day Saturday and a little bit on Sunday with no issues. Split probably 1.5 - 2 cords. All eucalyptus so far

Did you plumb your filter into the circuit from the pump to the control valve?

Should be in the return from the valve to the tank IIRC.

Yeah it was in between the control valve and tank. The pump is rated for 27 gpm, the control valve is 30 gpm, and that filter was rated for 20 gpm :homer: Looking at a filter / filter assembly that flows 55 gpm now.
