Out in the rice
So my neighbor has a situation. His property butts up against some AG fields. The road around these fields runs along his fence line for two acres in length. The back acre has sheep and goats. Local kids rip around the fields on dirt bikes, quads etc. and it’s stampedes the animals into a frenzy and they get hurt or killed. He’s already lost 5 lambs that got tangled up in fence and had to be put down. The kids parents could care less, and the owner of the AG fields knows and has said something but it seems to be that it’s being ignored. According to the cops, they can’t do a thing because it’s private property and they can do what they want. I find it hard to believe that there is not some stock harassment law? Even if the kids didn’t have permission to ride there it’s a huge area and this time of year there is nobody around to boot them out. Kind of at a loss here without it getting handled at the “street level” lol

Any chance the younguns could come to understand, & maybe throttle back along a fenceline? I know i know… but this (& littering) is how we’ve lost riding privileges for Decades. Maybe if they see the value vs the “sacrifice “ to keep the privilege. Worked for a bunch of us growing up.

Build a wood privacy fence? Sucks but if they aren’t trespassing or intentionally messing with his animals it’s just a fact of life. Same as the people complaining about “my wife works nights and the neighbors dog barks at squirrels he sees during the day, what should I do?“

The livestock is the thing. I can drop your dog runnin my calf on my property & it’s tough **** for you and your dog. Other side of the fence aint my rules. But It would be nice to have an understanding with a neighbor.

I'm having trouble with the premise of the problem?

Granted I grew up on a cattle farm, but we ripped ATVs around IN the pasture with the cows not next to it, they pretty much stayed away and ignored us.

Sheep are a lost cause, they wake up every morning looking for a way to die. The goats should get over it.

Dig a deep mudhole for them to play in.. Mud muffles noise and if your lucky, ruins the dirtbikes and quads.

kids outside shredding around on dirt bikes and atv's is exactly what kids need to be doing instead of sitting at home playing video games

tell your neighbor to build a solid fence along those 2 acres instead of taking away kids fun times, its not even his property

I spent like 45 minutes in search of a rule, and couldnt find one.. but I'm willing to wager more time tonight looking to find something

however this seems to have the answer, but now I need to take a break.. hahaha

Totally agree. They’re not being bad kids. But the consequences of their actions are causing damage and a income loss, albeit a small one.

nothing worse then ******s with a hobby farm next door stinking up the neighborhood with piss and **** smell having far too many animals on a small piece of land
It’s not a hobby farm and he’s not a farmer. The kids ARE riding on a farmers land that’s adjacent to the pasture. We get it..... you don’t like farmers lol. That’s a discussion for another time.

farmers are awesome, love them, i just dont care for hobby farmers that have an acre of property crammed with too many animals and then want to stop someone from doing something on property thats not even theirs :flipoff2:

dont mind me just being an ass :flipoff2:

Huh, so not his land, kids have permission to ride and are just riding around the road that goes near the adjacent property.

I seem to remember a slightly similar situation....:flipoff2:
