LED head/fog light bulbs that don’t suck

Good point on LED in snow however some of the newer bulbs with a ballast run hot. How that translates to melting snow off the housing is another thing.

LED generate heat at the chip but not it the same way bulbs do, it doesn't radiant forward and heat the outer lens. Most of the time it's transferred out the back via a heatsink.

A couple people say they use a light bar. Are you using that on the road? I would think that would get you stopped pretty quick.

Not around here. White trash runs them 24/7 and the popo tend not to care. I've even seen many that can't remember to turn them off when they park

I'm a big fan of wiring them with a 3 position switch - On, Off, High beams. Then you can hit them with the high beams but shut them off real quick before you blind someone

I've never seen or heard of anyone getting stopped for those. Maybe in California, but that's California.

Sure doesn't around here. There's a dickhead around here with a newer Charger that has the entire grille filled with light bars that are on full time, never gets fucked with. Tons of motherfuckers using flood pods as "fog lights", tons of people with 20-30" bars on their bumpers, no issues.

The only time I can ever recall anyone I know getting harassed for off-road lights was one time my buddy left the house without putting the covers on the lights he had mounted to a roll bar and a cop used it as a chicken shit excuse to pull him over to check if he'd been drinking, lights weren't even on.

No fucks given about lightbars everywhere in Tx Ive been either. Probably 80% of the time they turn them off when oncoming, but there are the fuckwads who are too stupid to do that.

These are what I run for my high beams in my truck. Great for those assholes that forget they have their high beams/light bars on:

Post a link to a website with no explanation.

When someone calls you out and says that link sucks because x,y,z you get butthurt?

When asked what the benefits of that link are, you get more butthurt?

:lmao:

I wish I was trolling, this is rich.

You are delusional. With the personality of a 5 yo

My headlights are only used to keep me legal; the lenses are so frosted inside and out that they don't give off light for shit!:homer:

So I got Walmart LEDs for real lighting (for a poor guy!:flipoff2:).

Now I'm looking/researching LED amber lights.
I'm looking at these at the moment:

Apparently in fog they actually work vs white light because yellow light doesn't reflect back like white light does.

I've turned on those Walmart LED lights in fog; a bright white wall is made in front of the Bronco from the reflecting white light.
Completely blinded me.

If you want to try out yellow lights without spending a bunch of $$$ you could put some Lamin-X on your current lights. I ran their film on my stock fogs for a couple years before I swapped them out. After going to yellow on my driving lights I'm hooked. Bright enough lights 100% will still reflect off the fog but it's nowhere near as hard on your eyes.

Thanks for the suggestion/link.

I have the 2"X20" floor light I'll try out on it.:smokin:

I have a '14 tundra that I swapped out the oldschool H4 stock headlights for the OEM LEDS. Also added Rigid DOT fogs in amber and clear. Also added 2 amder 10" LED bars in the grill area for snow and fog driving while on back roads.
Enjoyed all the light goodness during the summer months, had everything adjusted so I never got flashed. The last winter I learned that LED's go not work well in snow. All of them snowed over and I lost all visibilty on my hour drive home on the freeway, county roads and back raods to home. I had to pull over in some very dangerous places to clear the snow about 4 or 5 times or so each trip. Fuck that shit!
I now have old school Hella lights mounted on the bumper and removed the 4" amber Rigid in the fogliht locations and installed 4" incondecent 100 watt light/ bulbs. Wish I would have saved the factory H4 housings.

Ended up ordering Fahren’s for the headlamps and Auxbeams for the fog lights. I wanted a yellow beam for the fog light. Fahren apparently doesn’t have yellow for that bulb style. Or at least not on Amazon.

Hopefully they work well. Between the limited daylight that we have now and my wife’s stupid work schedule she’s doing a decent amount of night driving.

I spent half the day installing Fahrens in my shitbox Subaru. I'm far from stupid, but I could not make them work right. The high and low beams were reversed,. (dimmer switch in low, bulbs would be in high, visa versa) because this particular car switches the ground instead of the feed.

I eventually gave up. This car has a 20" LED bar on it for long range and some amber LED fogs for shitty weather, so the standard halogen bulbs will work fine for everything else.

You need the right pattern on the lens for them to work well in fog. Being yellow is only half the game. You need a flat pattern with good cut off, low beam like. Otherwise you will just have slightly less bright yellow fog. Same goes for heavy dust.

The Aux Beams were garbage. Would have had to file some of the body and plug to get them installed and one of them had broken locking tabs. Returned them and ordered a pair from SuperBrightLeds.

Haven't installed anything yet.
