L3ctric motor horsepowers

I have very little 3 phase knowledge besides that it can allow variable speed, but would a 15hp motor be that small? The 5hp 220V Baldor on our table saw has a longer/larger housing than that thing.

Single phase pull more amps, this requires larger winding size, bigger motor frame.

It just looks small in the photo probably.
It's ~150lbs. Pump is around 450lbs. One cylinder around 6" and the other around 3.5"
 
Found a few 20hp motors for fairly cheap.

Would a 20hp pull same amperage as a 15 if it's doing the same work? Or that not how motors work?
 
No. 20hp has more iron to saturate with bigger windings. Also more rotating mass.
 
look up the efficiency curve for your motor if you can
it'll be a few more amps than a 15's fla, but not 20hp fla
