What's new

The exhaust is the Hedman 69830 headers, Summit 3" rod builders kit with some v-bands, 2 Magnaflow 14"x5" stainless mufflers. The headers installed really nicely with the front end sheet metal removed. Clearance is good. We trimmed the lower lip of the passenger framerail to give it some wiggle room. but that was it. It blocks the starter but oh well, they look nice too. The owner has a great disdain for leaky headers, so we used some Stage 8 locking hardware.

It sounds great, a bit loud under throttle but liveable. Some resonators might end up under there eventually.

Allright. Quick dirty update.

After reading review after review for all the big name companies we chose Phoenix Transmission out of Texas. If you look hard enough you can find enough bad reviews about everyone.... Phoenix seemed to have the least. The owner called them up and specd out a 700r4.

Swap went without drama. So far so good, its been to Moab and up and down 6-7 trails here in CO . No drama from the trans itself. Our temp gauge on the other hand was being cooked by the exhaust. Along with everything else in the area.

Shakedown at Rainbow Falls went great, other than the wild temps the trans gauge was reading.
We added and an H pipe and wrapped the exhaust. Temp gauge is far more accurate and the exhaust note is much more pleasant.

Before we left for MOAB we finally added the rear rock slider leg we had been putting off.

I havnt had it off yet The owner wants to wait to pull it until he does a cage. Prior experience from a warped EB is keeping the top on currently. Might be be paranoia, but not my truck. Surprisingly with the doors, its been tolerable in the rains we've seen. You know as soon as we pull the top, CO will see a freak monsoon season...
