It's Trump's fault the postal service sucks

You would think you would be well versed in how the postal system worked and who ships what!!:flipoff2:

It means americans ship alot of shit.

My point is if every American could vote it would be 331million ballots, less than they handle in a single normal day. Out and back would be 662million (but it's probably close to half that can vote). Why the fuck do they need $25bn extra dollars to handle the election?

I think mail in voting is shit, but that's beside the point already.

There are 80 days to go. And right about now, America’s sleepwalking into a stolen election.

Why do I say that?

Consider the following set of facts. The mailed in vote is expected to rise to 51% of the total for Democrats in this election, thanks to the Covid pandemic being allowed to explode. But the Postal Service has warned mailed in votes might not arrive in time to be counted in 46 statesout of 50 states. The President, meanwhile, has openly admittedto crippling the Postal Service, in order to…stop mailed in votes from being counted. Obama has come out and said that Trump is trying to “actively kneecap” the Postal Service.

There is an obvious, transparent plan to steal the election. Why on earth do Americans still want to debate this? Why, every time I write about this, does Steve or Tucker want to tell me that my “theory lacks evidence”? Trump has admitted it! It’s not the stuff of conspiracy theory — it’s come from the President’s very own lips.

really sounds like more people should opt to vote in person then....

Or the fact that most of the "loss" is from having to pre pay the pensions for employees that have yet to be born. Most of the mail here has been fine except for anything that goes through or from the east coast or midwest. Stuff that would normally be here in 2 to 3 days is vanishing for weeks before popping back up.

Nailed it.

Got it!!

I said in another thread, maybe this one, that if the USPS cannot guarentee that all these ballots (mail) are delivered on time and safe with this much notice, they need to be defunded and shut down TODAY. This is their core job function!!

can't shut them down... they are required to carry declarations of war.

I'd just want my every ballot to have a return receipt with name of person receiving...

And when was the last time we actually declared a war? War on drugs and terra doesnt count.

Send it certified mail?

Everyone keeps saying that.

MYTH: Without these burdensome requirements, the USPS would neither be losing money nor experiencing its current and/or pre-COVID cashflow crunch.

FACT: First, the PAEA contributions have no bearing on cashflow because the USPS is not making those contributions.

In the aftermath of the Great Recession, Congress reduced the 2009 contribution, and, when it refused to make any further changes, the USPS simply defaulted, that is, refused to pay the contributions mandated by the PAEA. That continues to be the case today. As it states in its 10-K, with respect to retirement benefits, “the Postal Service did not make any of these [required pension funding] payments in order to preserve liquidity to ensure that the ability to fulfill the primary universal service mission was not placed at undue risk”; with respect to contributions to the retiree medical fund, the USPS states, “As indicated above, the Postal Service recorded an expense for these amounts but did not make these payments in order to preserve liquidity to ensure that the ability to fulfill the primary universal service mission was not placed at undue risk.”

So what is the reason for taking down sorting machines anyway? Are they trying a version of the Sears method of business "if we don't have any stores we can't lose money" or something? Or has the volume of mail dropped that much?

I don't know, why did they close up a bunch of post offices a few years ago? Why did they reduce the hours in my rural one that survived?

I ordered something last friday. it shipped monday, first class USPS.
post office delivered it a day early today, from 3 states away.

seems fine?

The gov't does a great job managing everything from the VA to the USPS. Let's hand over control of everything to our trustworthy elected leaders. I give up. Shoot me now so I don't have to do it later.

HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Linkslide baby!

PATERSON, N.J. – A judge has ruled that a new election will be held in November for a disputed Paterson City Council seat, just weeks after the race's apparent winner and a sitting councilman were charged with voter fraud.

State Superior Court Judge Ernest Caposela issued his ruling Wednesday.

Alex Mendez had won a special election on May 12 to fill the seat, but claims of voter fraud were soon raised. An investigation was then launched after the U.S. Postal Service's law enforcement arm told the state attorney general's office about hundreds of mail-in ballots located in a mailbox in Paterson, along with more found in nearby Haledon.

Ultimately, the Passaic County Board of Elections decided not to count 800 ballots cast in the race.

Voter fraud charges were brought in June against Mendez, Paterson Council Vice President Michael Jackson and two other men: Shelim Khalique, of Wayne, and Abu Rayzen, of Prospect Park. An attorney for Councilman William McKoy, who had been defeated by Mendez, then successfully sought an injunction that barred Mendez from being sworn into office.

They will even do that for you as they have the monopoly on violence!!

The only reason I have heard to justify the USPS is they deliver the articles of war. I am sure the USMC would be happy to take over that responsibility. Probably get there on time or early. :usa:

The wonderful USPS delivered my neighbors pills from the VA into my mailbox. This happens 3-4 times per year. Funny though, nobody ever has my mail.

Not if you pay taxes... they need your money!

not really, if the Communists get their way and they institute the death tax for everyone, they could soon get half of everyone's shit that died.
