Current Frigidaire shit the bed but it was 13 years old. I don't give a shit about all these features these companies are touting. I just want something with a stainless steel front to match our current appliances and something that cleans the damn dishes in a relatively quiet manner. That's it, that's all. I don't give a fuck about all this app compatibility, voice command, whatever the fuck.

The internet tells me Bosch is the best which is concerning because my parents have a Bosch and that thing is a piece of shit and has been nothing but problems.

Any input from the peanut gallery?

Miele

It's what they generally install next to all the Wolf and Sub-Zero stuff in the million $ mansions.

Last time I looked up a part number they were $5k, and that didn't include a face (cabinet faced, have to get your cabinet guy to trim it out...).

Yeah, my wife mentioned Miele because she loves her Miele vacuum but after seeing the prices I was like... the damn thing would have to last the rest of my life for me to come out ahead of just burning through mid-level big box units.

Bosch, been super happy with this choice, had it for 5 or so years no problems, it washes good and it's super quiet.

Well, damn. Seems like Bosch is the IBB consensus. If that's really the best there is without spending fuck you money I might just put the damn Frigidaire back in to fill the space and just wash by hand because my parent's Bosch has been a constant headache for them.

I hate to tell you but "affordable" coming into play makes it a Bosch. Remember if you are looking at reviews online there are way more people happy that won't post a good one but unhappy people will post a negative dang near every time.

When it comes to stuff like this most often I just skip the positive and go with the option that has the least negs.

My LG and Kitchenaid have both been solid. Both are nicer units with stainless tubs and heated dry. Super quiet as well.

I thought the new thing was commercial dishwashers for home use, because of how fast they are, although I think i read you kinda have to rinse 1st, because I think they mainly sanitize.

My late 1990 s Bosch lasted 20 years, couple cheap parts thrown at it. Replaced it with some off brand for $500 I was selling the house

Our kitchen aid sucks bad.
Well, that sucks. I was kinda looking that direction.

Leaning very hard toward putting the Frigidaire back as a cosmetic place holder and just not replacing it. Might at least give that a whirl. If I get tired of hand washing then I can revisit this at a later date.

We got a Whirlpool [edit: model WDT750SAKZ, ~$800 delivered] from Costco 2 years ago. I'm happy with it.

I would recommend getting one with a stainless liner. Most stuff comes out dry in combination with Jet Dry. If you have kids and all the plastic bottles/cups/plates/bowls associated with that, it's one of the only "parenting hacks" that actually saves time.

It's not particularly fast, ~3.5 hours for the full cycle with extended dry. I run it either while I'm at work or sleeping (it's plenty quiet).

12 year old LG here, high end model so whisper quiet,I hardly ever rinse, takes 2:11 for a load to come out spotless
does love to drink the rinse aid though

I'm sure you can get a clunker from even good/great brands it happens, I can only go by my experience with a product, always subject to change, right?

It is a $3500 model and is built like junk. Weak and brittle. And doesn’t wash good at all. Really disappointed.

I’ve replaced a bunch of parts already for no reason other than rot. And it’s 2019 build.

Bosch. Had them at an old job, they worked well 5 days a week for years. Got one at the house a few years ago. No complaints. Just remember to clean out the trap every now and then.

Another vote for Bosch. I read they are so quiet and there’s a red light that points on the floor so you know it’s working.
I bought one, put it in, I tell the wife load it up and try it out. She call me in the kitchen and says “it’s not working “, I look and the red light is on and shining on the floor, lol.
It’s been 10 years at least and never had a problem.

I'd buy whatever's 50db or less, stainless tub and on the biggest sale/ in the scratch & dent/open box aisle at Lowes/homedepot. I paid somewhwere around $250 out the door for my $899 retail whirlpool floor model with this method and no regrets. ( pro-tip, whatever the markdown price is, the appliance manager will usually slash it even more if you find some flaw to point out and dont ask like a dick.) A bosch might be nice but it damn sure ain't 4x as nice ( or probably even 2x as nice as whatever's on sale for $500 not scratch & dent)

Not LG. I had one and had to zip tie all the safety switches to think the doors always shut to get it to consistently work. You could open it while running and it wouldn't stop:lmao:, I wonder if the new owners of the house figured that out:laughing:. I have a badass Maytag from the early 2000s in the current place and looks like I'll have to spend $$$$ if I want one that actually has heated drying and isn't a steaming pile of Chinese dog shit.

Kinda the way I'm leaning. Just hand wash until something decent shows up in the open box section at the local Lowe's. I'm in there at least once or twice a week so it's not hard to keep an eye out. Seems that like most things they're all basically varying degrees of cheap disposable shit. Figure I'll try to grab something for under $500 and as long as I get 3+ years out of it chalk it up as a win, rinse and repeat.

We have the GE monogram that came with the package. It works great. FYI the new dishwashers take forever to clean to meet the new BS energy standard.

can't find the tag from the DW (which was similar), but here's the matching range that I asked the appliance manager 'can you do better (than $600) if we load this in my truck 5 minutes from now?' :grinpimp: (suburban housewives want to ask this manager to hold a clearance deal them til their soft-handed computer programmer husband gets there to tell the manager he might scratch the headliner of his Honda Fit if he tries to fit a major appliance in it, so cash & carry sometimes swings a lot of weight in the suburbs.)

Might give this a whirl at Lowe's tomorrow. There was a Bosch in the open box section but it was still like $900. Didn't realize they had that much discretion on those items.
