Mantis 4 stroke tiller with a Honda gx25 engine. Use it maybe twice a year. Tilling the garden today it started squirting oily gook out the intake. What’s happening here?

I did the valve lash and fresh oil and plug last spring when I put it away for the year. Oil level is high and smells a little like fuel.

Not sure on the valve cover vent, I’ll take a look at that tomorrow.

Sawmill got me last year with this crap. The cover kept the throttle cracked & filled the crank case. I quit trying to start it when it would barely turn over after confirming the battery was hot. Old oil made great fire starter. Now it gets the fuel shut off & run out if I’m using it the next day or not.

if you wanna make a drive you can borrow a man-size tiller- the 10hp widowmaker 9000 with no safety features whatsoever that we got from the wifes grandpaw. last used to turn dirt during rona shutdowns but i start it every year or so.

Ha I’ll keep that in mind for a backup plan. Got the first pass done today with it complaining at the end. Gonna mess with it tomorrow and see what I come up with.

This is a weed eater. Even google says so before you come back with your hillbilly "string trimmer" nonsense :flipoff2:

So it’s more accurately a weed eater motor with a micro tiller head on it. :flipoff2:
