Is it possible to import a 2005 BMW 318D from Germany and register it?

You can do a one year temporary import if it remains registered in Germany. They say you need to remove it in one year, but fuck em.

That temporary import looks like needs to be a foreign citizen and is tied to a passport.

That's it? My 87 325i MTechnic would run out of gears at 250 KMH (155 MPH). It didn't like and wind at that speed, though, as the front end began to float wherever it wanted.

The only way to do this is to get a 2000 model and import it in 7 weeks.
I had a fun 1989 325i that had a cam, headers, and head work. I picked it up from an old German. It was a blast and it did seem to top out a 250kph, I didn't focus too much on the cluster because it was floating and was a handful.

I also had a mint fully loadec e30 325ix automatic that had been brought back to Germany from Japan. The auto was bad and I couldn't find anyone that could figure out the correct parts for the transmission since it was an export. I bought another 325ix with body damage and used the parts and converted the nice one to a manual transmission. I sold the rest of the parts and eventually sold the nice one for $3500 before I left. I found out later that I probably could have imported the Japan model because it had the proper emissions.
If it were a Porsche old school 911 .. I could understand..

It being a station wagon I just don't get the thinking behind it.

That's why not ? For me... Pony_Driver Screenshot_20241115_171330_Gallery.jpg something along these lines, however "Priscilla" is already stated side..
"Not ⁴ Sale"! :flipoff2::smokin:
I know the wagon is weird but I think it is cool because it is stick and turbo diesel which would be uncommon in the US. I like odd plain Jane vehicles.

Have you any cherman cars to declare ?

Half cut it. Then you can import it no problem. :flipoff2:

Im starting to come around to the wagons. I'm getting older.
There were a lot of cool diesel stick AWD cars over there that I wanted to bring back. Our laws suck. If it's eruo emissions compliant, it should be EPA compliant too.
Exactly. That's why I'd be looking to import it as well. :smokin:

They are attacking diesel now too. In the London ULZ zone my 5.0 supercharged range rover is compliant but a diesel TDV8 range rover is uncompliant and must pay the highest tier tax. 50% less fuel useage or more on the diesel too.

Voting there may contribute to being called for jury duty if they have jurys.

Tell them you are in favor of Jury Nullification.

My mom was born there and I filled out some paperwork 5ish years back.

I honestly never even considered voting... hmmm

Hmm. My mum was born in Gilroy. Did your mum give up her citizenship? Mine did, but I wonder if I can do some paperwork and become a Yankee like the rest of y'all.

You might owe taxes here just FYI. Pretty sure you've citizens have gotta file.

No she has dual citizenship.

buy a new sawzall and frontcut it?
might need the rear diff too if it is a diesel-specific ratio, or a limited slip or something else neat

crate the whole thing up and see about getting someone to stuff it (the front end from the tranny forward) in a container
