Interesting Craigslist finds

So much want. No idea what I'd do with it though.

If it cost so much and works so well , why are they selling it ?

Other than tha fact that it’s the govt and the govt workers are always 99.9% idiots .
Because it didn’t actually cost $400k to build. That’s dealer-picked-up-at-govt-auction math. A new SnoGo is $300, a new dodge is $55k, had to have been $45k in labor. Boom, $400k! And only asking 125, what a deal. I bet he paid $40k at auction, if that.

Chassis and blower are all 60s Oshkosh SnoGo, so they took an old unit that probably had a bad traction engine/rusty cab and combined it with a Dodge that was rear ended but hadn’t been sent to auction yet. Swap over the dodge cab, baby Cummins and add an Alllison, because why not, as the traction engine and paint everything orange.

My guess is it was built by some bored DOT shop guys up on the Iron Range. Their area didn’t rate a new rig so they built that one with broken vehicles on hand. State budget department didn’t flinch at the parts and materials bills, especially over multiple budget years. Maintenance is a different budget than vehicle procurement, so everyone’s happy. Probably wanted a quieter, warmer cab than the old Oshkosh had. Plus a cup holder for their coffee, very important for state workers.

When I worked for the state of ND, facilities wanted to spend $8k in our fab shop to fix a bent $7k snow pusher. A new pusher wasn’t a budget item, but repairing the old one was easily within their maintenance budget.

Because it was built in 2015 out of a 2004 truck (likely that had the bed rusted out because #DodgeRusts) and they got money in their budget this year to replace it?

Four aluminum super single rims for $200. Someone with a 2-axle MDT should snap those up.

Small sample size. but I put a Bomag single drum roller on CL and FB and it sold the first day via CL. The two legit buyers both came from CL.

Got one "Is this still available?" from FB.

Ad was up 4 days. Went live Saturday and a guy sent me his # and said he couldn't come to see it until Tuesday. He drove 5 hours to look at it and then wired me 14K and said he would be back to get it in 3 weeks. He wants my Ram 3500 too.

I'm going to go straight CL on my dump truck. Old school truck for old school peeps.

Looks like it has some rust.

9k seem optimistic to me. I'd be interested around 4-5k. I may be out of touch of the value though.

That shitty aftermarket grill and that ducktail thing on the cab would need to be shit canned. Caint stand simulators either. Alcoas FTW.

Very nice running truck. Has 454 auto with 68k miles! $9500 or trade. Will trade for anything mainly looking for a tractor, guns, or 4 wheeler. Have a blessed day!
