Planes are like 18 wheelers , older ones are cheap to purchase , the big expense is in the operation and maintenance.I had no idea you could get in to a small aircraft for this kind of money. I always pictured it being well in to 6 figures. I'm sure the engine overall won't be cheap, but still....
