Don’t think we have a thread about this yet.

Found out today that I broke 6th gear in my ktm 1290 super adventure.

^ suck!

My Klune-V shift knobs were busted 14 bolt shafts.
Cracked 2 different dana 300's in half like a watermelon.
Thats probably my best/worst.

Have seen a lot more impressive stuff out there.

First race in my TREC B / 4500 jeep. Came down the first hill, clipped a rock with the front ford dana 60 and cracked it. Had a bad vibration for a bit followed up by front wheels going tits up.

Casting broke in two, had to load onto trailer with a front end loader. Hiding behind the smile was a sleep deprived and disappointed guy.

Was hoping for an axle shaft twisted up like a candy cane.
I saw this pic like 15 years ago and cannot seem to find it again haha. I remember the shaft was taken out of a bronco on 38s and sitting across the tire or so and it had 3 good turns on it. Looked like a candy cane.

I thought JR4X had a thread in Gen4x4 or wherever?
I do but gen4x4 is to far of a drive for the chit chatters

But it was locked front and rear on 35's. :lmao:

Internet pics but 99% sure something similar I’ll find in my NV4500 whenever I get the trans out later this year (still driving it :lmao: )

I've broken a lot of shit, but this wasn't a break per say. It did break my fuel cell and bed floor though. Dropped off the ledge on the left, ran over the down tree and shortly after I see a tree growing in my rear view. Luckily we were close to an excavator to lift the truck off.

looks more heat related than pressure

got some fancypants piston-melting tune on that thing, or is it just the regens making it glow bright cherry red?

Cross pin broke free in the rear diff. Got lodged against the housing. Axle shafts were the weak point.

didn't get any pics of the bits before I started reassembling them, so here's a pic halfway into reassembly
only welded one side of the spiders, they broke and fell out and then trashed the ring and pinion
well, still running the r&p minus one tooth, but I do not trust it at all
stuck the broken bits back into the diff carrier to play the part of filler and packed it with tons of weld because fuck fuck fuck

Having a spider gear get caught in the pinion makes a loud noise and locks both duals up for a good 10' or so
ETA: 10.25" ford

Deleted truck with a shitty tune from the previous owners. Was making 600hp before it got sent in to get unfucked. Now a rather lackluster 525hp, but doesn't eat turbos at $10k a pop.

Pretty sure it took out the 8 month old head at the same time. Also pretty sure that's why it had a fresh head on it

How do people afford that shit? If you’re breaking 10k turbos that’s probably not the only expensive consumable in your life

Company iron. When it's running, it makes them enough to cover the maintenance costs.

On a well maintained truck with a known history, it's not normally an issue. When you buy a 10 year old ex-patch truck sight unseen from the auction however....
