Long story short.

Picked this ex INDOT 1987 3+3 up years ago and it served me well as daily driver and hauler.

Hoarding parts for years for this build.

Aftermarket as well as GM .

Will convert to 4WD with Dana 60 and AAM 11.5.

Just bought a wrecked donor, 8.1 and Allison 1000, NV261 from a low mileage 2007 from a seller on the board here.

Should be a great build for my next work and play truck for my grandson and I this Summer.

Donor truck in transit next week.

Contacted Howell for a stand-alone harness with a manual transmission.
Very reasonable price and lead time for the harness.

As much as I like the thought of an automatic, shifting gears with a big block LS is much more appealing to me.

Gonna think about it for the next week or so.

The whole concept of this truck was take a bare bones approach to a work and play truck, rowdy when needs to be and reliable.

I’ve got the whole she-bang Dual friction clutch, fresh flywheel, serviced SM465-NP205 to Dana 60 ready to go.

You can’t get more bulletproof than this combo.

You had the grey 3±3 on the old site right?
I have a black 84 crew. I may have posted it on the old site. Nothing much. 4" lift on 33" Toyo Open Countrys. It's our camping rig. We put a pop up cabover in the bed and go back in the mtns where no one is.

The one I was thinking of had a radius arm d60

Donor truck arrived last night.
Just picked it up and drove eight miles to my property from the drop off point.
My wife knew I was coming down our road…..🤪

Big decision came this afternoon.
Just talked to my pal Al from Bloomington.
We are gonna assemble a drivers drop Dana 60 for the yellow truck so I can use the Allison 1000 NVG261 factory gear 🇺🇸🔥🍺💪🏼

1979 Ford Dana 60, high steer, 35 spline outers, and all my Lugnut 4x4 brake stuff.

37” BFG Military tires and 24 bolt H1 rims will round out the rolling stock for now.

Excited to see this take shape, a bit jealous of your donor truck that was a great deal for a clean complete setup. I have a 2001 6.0/nv4500 truck I'd love to 8.1 swap at some point

I'm in southern Indiana as well if you need a hand, I'd be interested in whatever you don't use off the donor when you get to that point
