Hulse Engineering Shop Thread

I am interested in this kit. I don't see it on your site. Can't you post more details or shoot me a PM. Thanks!
The DIY tab kits are for the DIY chassis kits I sell, things such as Link tabs, shock tabs, winch mounts, fuel cells, etc. It's all stuff specific to each chassis

how small is the rad that works with the LS, or do most do a rear RAD.
It completely depends on axle choice and uptravel setup. Straight axles have more room vs portals and minimal uptravel has more room than 6-7" of uptravel. On the portal cars I run a 22x13 in the small trail chassis and the XL can squeeze in a 22x15.5 depending on the setup. Either way its a small radiator for an LS and I recommend running dual brushless fan so you can get the most CFM possible through the radiator to make up for the size. Running a rear radiator with a LS makes it much easier as you can run what ever size and fan combo you want with any axle and uptravel setup.

Hey Richard, glad to see you got on the board. Just wanted to give a shout to you and let everyone know that if you're looking to deal with a top notch guy and customer service then hulse engineering is a definitely holding a spot high up on the list.

Answered all my questions via email with lightning like speeds and then had me call for a loonnnngggg phone conversation to go over my specs/build before I finalized my order. Once again, can't say enough about the company. Looking forward to get my order in this week and get this chassis to my shop.

Glad I could help, can't wait to see more of these cars getting built!

I would echo this...As I said it in my thread, RH top notch, and helpful. No gatekeeping or pressure.

I will also say that I put one together without all the jigs in the pics. It's very doable, I sure jigs would make it a bit more exact, but it's way better than I could ever do from scratch.

Thanks! Glad you are happy with it!

Richard Hulse I love the look and simple well thought-out design of your cars. Loosely thinking about my next build, a 3 seat tube car is in my future so that myself, my better half and our 13 year old can all go out together. How tall of a person can safely fit in the back seat of the trail chassis (non-xl)?

My chassis (the smaller and the XL) are really only meant for small kids in the back, you’ll run out of leg room long before head room in either chassis. I usually say a young teenager is the max size kid that will fit in back in either chassis. And the smaller chassis and XL is the exact same room for the 3rd seat area, only difference is the XL has 2” more head room.

Looking at the pictures tight leg room back there definitely makes sense. My girlfriend is only 5'3 and has short legs at that. And she has agreed to riding in the back since the 13 year old is taller and she still seems to be growing.

Maybe when I start to get more serious about a build I'll see if I can meet up with someone with a three seater to see if it's at all reasonable for us, but sounds like I might need to consider some different options.

Thanks for getting back to me!

Richard is top notch. Very quick to respond on multiple platforms always upfront with info.

His layouts and DIY kits go together super easy. I highly recommend these chassis the geometry is so neutral they are stupid easy to wheel.
I am in the process of putting together another one for a wheeling buddy. a 2 seat XL. 6.0/TH350/flipped D300
