So I ordered a prop for my boat on June 21st from a guy that deals only in props. He has very good reviews by everyone on the forms. I know the guy shipped my prop very promptly because I got a notice from UPS with the tracking #. I get a box a few days later from the guy. I realized very quickly that I got the wrongs prop. I received 2 $900 props instead of my single $550 prop. Obviously the guy got some shipping labels mixed up. No problem...I get it...shit happens.

I email the guy about the issue and I get an automatic return email saying he is on vacation till July 8th. Well fuck...I guess I'll wait till the guy gets back. On July 8th he emails me 1st thing in the morning saying he is going to send me a shipping label so I can UPS the 2 wrong props to the guy who was supposed to get them. He says he's doing the same with the guy who has my prop. I shipped the wrong props out the same day (july 8th) and I get notice from UPS that I have a package coming with my prop. Fast forward to this evening, and the guy who has my prop hasn't shipped my prop yet and, according to tracking, received his props.

I have payed for my prop (on cc) and I have nothing. How long do I give the prop dealer to make things right?

Do I need to drive to Florida to shit in this guys sunroof?

Have you contacted the prop guy to let him know? See what he has to say?

Sounds like a typical lazy boat owner being a typical lazy boat owner.

Stupid of prop guy to handle it that way, but I'd at least reach out to him to make it right first.

What kind of podunk shit is this? :lmao:
Kinda what I thought. I don't understand why the prop dealer didn't want me to ship the wrong props back to him and he ship me the correct prop.

I'm about done being nice.

I emailed prop guy to ask him when/if my prop will ship...his response was "I'll email him to ask"...WTF

It isn’t your mess up to fix. You did your part though. Call prop dealer to send you a correct prop because you can’t keep waiting for the other guy to ship it. See what he says. Dealer probably hasn’t followed up with the other guy to gently remind him to ship it to you.

UPS and FedEx have good tracking. So if it isn’t marked shipped then that is correct. USPS is hit or miss on tracking being up to date. Yay government!

Gonna call bull on the brown Santa and fuck x on their shipping notifications. They have fucked up multiple times on me with that shit.

At that point the response should be/have been...this is your problem, not his.

He created it and was hoping people's good will in the boat community would work spare prop.

The second he found out it didn't, his response should have been, I'm getting your prop in the mail today, if you end up with two, thanks for doing business with me and enjoy your spare prop.

Seconded.

It was bs trying to get the customers to ship the props to eachother. He probably did it to try an get everyone their parts quicker, but look how that turned out.

Prop dealer wanted to save $60 in shipping, he should have last eyes & hands on item before it gets to the correct customer.

4rh of July holiday allowed everything down. Call him tomorrow and say you’re canceling your cc transaction and leaving a bad review or ship your shit direct asap. Too bad he let the other customer do his job for him.

Are you Kidding? It’s now irate that has to instruct him wtf to do. How do people get through life I ask myself quite often when I see stuff like this. :lmao:

I'm going to guess this is a niche market. They deal by word of mouth and goodwill once in a while. This time it went south. Learn and move on.

My comment wasn’t about dealing with boat props, it’s asking imo stupid questions about how to go about simple task in life. Don’t get me wrong, he’s open to post whatever he wants it’s not that, it’s just things I assume people should already know how to take care of their business.

You mean to tell me that op has no fawking clue as to how long he should wait to do something about his missing property? Ok how about this, a full 12 months is how long you should wait until you try to figure out where it’s at :homer: For fawks sake. What are you? 12? Just learning life?

Ok, I’m off my soapbox, go on about “where’s my prop at?”

Search fb mp as it’s probably listed on there. Better yet, hang out at all the boat ramps eyebal fucking all the other boat props as the owners are taking their boats in and out of the water.

I’m tired and drove too much today, good fawking night :flipoff2:

Contact credit card company and reverse charges.

If he wanted to make it right he should have sent you what you ordered, and dealt with the other guy on his own.
Yup, vendor fucked up and then doubled down on it by trusting the two buyers to sort it out. That rarely works as smooth as it should.

The prop guy sounds like a trustworthy guy, but that’s a lot of faith to put in a consumer. I’m sure prop guy will make it right no matter what, but no guarantee that other guy doesn’t sell yours on eBay.

Prop guy should have asked both of you to return to him, and then once returned properly ship them. I have a feeling prop guy is about to learn a lesson that lessens his perspective on his fellow man here.

How far did you need to ship the other guys stuff? Was a phone number included with the shipping info?

Other customer knows you have his info right?

Call the vendor and talk to him. Get the other guy's name, call him and talk to him. I doubt he's trying to steal your prop.
He's got the other customers name and address, a phone number ain't hard to obtain from there.

Customers ship directly to each other: Could it save time? In good theory, yes. Does it save the vendor in shipping costs? Yes, but not my problem. Did the vendor give my info to someone else? 1. Yes, without asking me. WTF?. 2. Yes, we were both contacted and OKed the arrangement. Give it a day or two.

Also greatly reduces the number of times min-wage yokels get to give your $500-1800 props the ol' Ace Ventura which is probably a lot more important to all parties involved than $50 of shipping.

As long as both were aware that they were getting each other's info and both were fine with it, I don' t see the issue.

Yeah, they guy was trying to make two customers happy and also saving a buck but these guys were also getting their shit faster by directly shipping to each other rather than back to guy and then to them. Should have saved days in theory. Both still had to take the same trip to drop it off at UPS. Other than printing a label, and maybe just used the qr code, I don't see the big deal at all.

I would be frustrated I will admit, especially if I really needed it.

If I am the seller, I am overnighting you the right part and asking you to return the other one when/if it arrives OR asking the other buyer to send direct to me and be more careful going forward with labeling.

Seems hokey by the prop guy. I might have went along with it too in hopes of it saving time and money though. It appears to have compounded the problem at this point. I'd call the prop dude up and let him know the tracking needs to be marked shipped by one of the 2 parties By Friday evening or Monday morning, you are challenging the charge with the CC company.
